I don't think Dembele and Dempsey are an improvement on VDV and Modric

"Spurs throwing a load of money about, can they afford it?"
After the sale of Modric they have a negative net spend this window so, yes, they can easily afford it.

Can you imagine the price tag Fulham probably put on Dempsey to Liverpool after the farce of 18 months ago. We made a rod for our own backs. Liverpool have to take a stand and send the message out that we will not pay silly prices anymore. This will mean we will miss out on targets now and again for the foreseeable future. Look at the bigger picture.

Thanks for your concern but spurs sales this summer have been about £65m and our purchases including Lloris at £8m and Dempsey at £6m = £52m.....so net spend of -£13m. Thats not to mention the net spend in the last 2 windows of about -£27m.

Dempsey is a good player, can play more than one position and I am glad he has signed for us (spurs) ...I am sure if BR went all out for him, then he would now be a Liverpool player., As BR didnt push it as much as he possibly could, I think he was a "want" for Brendan, not a "must have, or our season i copmpletely facked"

Dempsey scored more than any LFC player last season with total ease.

Wow. Knock him all you want but levy is brilliant at transfers. I wonder how many teams in the top 10 have a negative transfer.

Forget about the money mate. You've lost VDV and Modric and ended up with Dempsey and Siggy. When you look at it that way, its bad business.

I would disagree.
We do miss that ball player, which a Mountinho deal would have resolved, but we are changing the way we play.
VDV is quality but he is not irreplaceable and in a 433 or 4231 he is hard to accommodate due to his work rate. You could say we'll miss his goals but with Dempsey/Sigurdsson we have goal scorers.
Plus a £10m deal for a 29 year old is not only decent money but also a profit.
What is so good about our team in the past few years is that we have not relied on 1 or 2 players.
VDV will be missed, he is class and a favourite but players like Dembele offer different assets, power, drive, while Dempsey & Sig will bring goals .

I'd expect nothing less.
Sold a 29 year old for £10m but then bought a lesser 29 year old for £6m. Dempsey won't score as many goals as he did at Fulham. Fulham played around him and Spurs won't do that. Gylfi might get you a few.
Dembele is a good player. But your team is weaker this season than last in my opinion.
