I think this is realistically our aims for this season. I, like most isn't looking forward to this season any more...
Anyway the aim should be to get 4th (as long as we don't do a Spurs), and win the league cup. I will be happy with that. Atleast we'll get a damm trophy. How the mighty have fallen...
Anything more is a bonus.
City have just bought who ever they could, so they'll be comfortable top2. Chelsea have also strengthened highly. Only way for them to flop is to continue with Di Matteo. I think they'll make top 3, utd will along with City battle for the title.
Arsenal will battle for 4th with Spurs, Liverpool, Everton, Swansea etc.

No, we are being realistic. I know its pathetic. But its true. We will probably scrape top 4 and I dont think we will win a trophy. But if luck on our side (like chelsea in CL) we might a trophy.

You do know we had this exact same debate last year, don't you? Oh god, we're ruined. Top 4 finish and anything else is a bonus. Oppostion fans are 100% correct. We are content with mediocrity. Just like the board. Obsessed with the CL and nothing else.

I see why some of you may want us to finish outside top4. If we had to finish outside top4, the season that just went was the season to.
I can't bear for another top class player to leave. Can already see Vermaelen leaving for Barca next yr.

You are missing Serial's point. Our aim is to finish 4th and yes we may well do it. The problem is OUR AIM IS TO FINISH 4TH and people are accepting it.

People are accepting it because with our squads its the best we can hope for, realistically.
I hate having to just settle for top 4. But thats the best we can do. I remember well when we used to win, and i really want that back. But theres not a lot we as fans can do about it.

Wenger and the board learnt nothing from last season. Had Spurs not snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, we would not even be in the Champions League this season. With Spurs, Newcastle and Everton snapping at our throats, what was our response? Instead of strengthening the team we had, we sold our two best players. Brillant plan .
