Amazing transfer window

Its shocking how amazing this transfer window went. In the state we we're in last season, i would have laughed had anyone said we would have signed pep, nevermind players like sharp and cox.

Since the Kuwait's have came in, they've brought in SOD, who knows the club, the league, plays football how it should be, and is known for developing talent. Brought in great players without the ridiculous price tag (8 million for rhodes , whereas we've got sharp on loan).

Billy Sharp - season long loan - proven goal scorer.

James Coppinger - 6 month loan - Steady right winger.

Henri Lansbury - 4 year contract - Strong attacking midfielder involved in 2 back to back promotions from the championship from arsenal (stron football playing side)

Sam Hutchinson - season long loan - borderline chelsea first team defender

Simon Cox - 3 year contract - was abit of a dark horse but his goal and assist tally so far speaks for itself - amazing.

Dan Harding - 3 year contract - A left back!!!!!!!!!

Daniel Ayala - season long loan - Spanish U21 international with premiership experience.

Danny collins - Premiership CB - strong player and stronger captain

Simon Gillett - Strong holding midfielder, plays passing football.

Greg Halford - Experienced CB/RB

Adlene Guedioura - 3 year deal - great playmaker, fan favorite and a great man to have back at the city ground.

Signed up youth like Llaccelles on long contracts for the future, and are soon gonna be in talks with players soon to be out of contract..

And we've got rid of miller and mcgoldrick!!

Best transfer window we've had in recent history. Regardless of what people think now, promotion has got to be attainable with the signings we've made, and thats on top of strong players like camp, blackstock, reid, cohen, and mcgugan and raddi on their days,

Thank you Al Hawasi's now for a very interesting season

Still can't believe we got Sharp

Promotion is still unlikely I'd say. We have a decent squad now but the league is so strong. There are strong squads everywhere. Look at Cardiff who have just signed Nicky Maynard, or Blackburn and Bolton with their Prem players. Blackpool will prob finish top 2, Birmingham will do well under Clarke. Leeds, Boro, Burnley etc the list goes on. We are at least one of the challengers.

The next two home games are pivotal. If we play like the first 3 games we should come away with 6 points. If we play like we did against Wigan, and lose our confidence and drop points then we're in trouble.

................Camp
Halford..Ayala..Collins..Harding
................Gillett
Lansbury..McGugan..Reid
...........Sharp..Cox

our midfield and attack now is seriously strong with loads of options. rotation i think is required to keep everybody happy. the defence i worry slightly. they're all solid enough championship players. but apart from collins, i think all have a rick in them. camp hopefully will his best form.

this is a promotion challenging side

you'd really have mcgugan in place of pep philo?

Mcgugans good (on his day atleast) but think pep is more constant and adds too much strengh and fluidity to midfield to drop him, at least for google.

That said, google is an option, useful in 5-at-the-back teams. Blazing it over and working from set pieces that a heavy at the back team eventually give out.
