What is wrong with you lot?

Anyone would think that we hadn't bought anyone. We have good players and just because we didn't chuck a load of money at the last day of the window there is uproar. We have a good team. Can we buy the league like City, Chelsea or United? No we can't, so until then get over it for goodness sake and stop acting like spoilt kids that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas. Rant over!!

Dude trust me I know LN Mittal. My childhood friend works for him.

And once again you are ignoring my post. Forget about owners for a second

I don't profess to know better than a football manager, that is not in my skill set. I guess it is in yours as you seem to know who best to buy. Let's wait until the end of the season to see who is correct, you, or the Arsenal manager.

No you ignored my post. Did we buy quality players in the window or not? Are you suggesting that by buying the likes of Hernandez we would win the league?

I get your point, but OP is trying my patience by educating me about LN Mittal who I have close connections with than you think (not that it is relevant at all to Arsenal)

OP you are sidestepping. How exactly are we buying the league by having a positive transfer budget? Don't argue for argumetn sake. If you wanna have a discussion , go ahead. If you wanna answer with random cliches, no point in continuing. And I clearly mentioned that Hernandez is an example of quality that will improve us for a very achievable price. Nowhere have I mentioned that he will win us the league.

There is a difference between a positive transfer budget, which we have, and a false transfer budget which the teams I mentioned have. Ours is money made through football, sky, advertising etc. Money earned. Theirs is money pumped in by the rich owners and not earned. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I am side stepping the issue, l don't think there is an issue, as I said I think we have a good squad. If you don't then fine, but I don't think that chucking money at mediocrity is the way forward.

Good debating with you cereal but I am off to bed now as work in the morning, sadly not as a football manager!

" It is possible to get quality without paying 30mn or 200K per week as teams which have far lesser stature than us are showing"

This is what I said. Man City bought Javi Garcia for 16mn. Newcastle bought numerous good players at very decent prices, who would definitely improve us(Cisse/Tiote/Cabaye). Have already given more examples. With a couple of bette rplayers, we could be challenging for the league. 19 points behind the leaders is not challenging for the league. Our squad has no backup in some positions especially for striker. Our first choice wingers aren't exactly the most creative either. This means its extremely imbalanced and will lead us to playing players out of position again, and if we Lukas and Giroud get injured, we are seriously screwed.
I love to be optimistic, and throughout the summer I have been. But we keep settling for mediocrity while selling lofty ambition as our target.
" I don't think that chucking money at mediocrity is the way forward."
And yet a lot of Gooners would say thats exactly what they themselves are doing by paying the highest ticket prices in Europe.
