Beckford - The last straw!

I know people will no doubt disagree with me but Pearson needs to go ASAP!
Why let probably the best striker in the league go to a promotion rival? It's just like the Campbell/Blackpool situation all over again!

I get the impression that Pearson is a control freak and wants robots with no personality as players. Anyone that shows a little discontent at being left out gets shown the door!

I'm sorry but I've completely lost faith in the guy now.
Pearson out, Redknapp in!

I"m not so sure it was "Sven mania". Many of us thought that Sven's lack of Championship experience would work against him and so it proved.

The problem with Pearson is that his demenour and antagonistic attitude does divide opinion. Certainly amongst the fans and (it would appear) amongst the players.

Whether Beckford left or not, the point is that there is clearly a lack of faith or he would not have been allowed to talk to Huddersfield. But love him or loathe him, this is a player with a consistent scoring record who should surely be given a chance - certainly ahead of Waghorn and Futacs but probably ahead of Vardy.

I am beginning to think that someone has broken all of the mirrors down at the KP. Either that or we are just not popular in the footballing fraternity. The last few weeks have seen the likes of Sharpe and Cox at Forest, Stewart to Bristol City, Maynard to Cardiff and Bothroyd to Sheffield Wednesday. Not necessarily targets any more but all (or most) turned us down but will almost certainly enhance their new teams.

I know there is a section of our support who admire Grumpy's man management style and I sincerely hope you are proved right. But all I see at the moment is divide and rule and over his tenure so far, it doesn't appear to be working.

Divide and rule, where do you get this from?

Don't get me wrong, Pearson has his faults and the only one's that matter are those to do with the play on the pitch but most of these threads are just garbage about Pearson.

How do we even know he has any real say about Beckford, he obviously rates him so it could be the player or the wages or anything out of his control, who knows what contract Beckford was put on last year in that last day panic buy!

Supporting a football team is about opinions True Blue.

Divide and rule is what I am seeing and I don't think I am alone in that opinion.

As I said, the best result for Leicester would be that the cynics have got it wrong. Let us hope.

There's opinions which are fair enough but they should at least be based on some form of fact not made up!

Absolutely! Of course everyone is going to have an opinion, but so much of the anti NP stuff (and I don't think he's a saint btw) is about people presenting tenuous rumours as fact (there are enough skysports journalists doing that already) – as though they have a spycam in the dressing room or NP's office.

I find the assumption that Beckford is entirely blameless in this and that it's all NP's fault, very odd. None of us know what's really gone on – and given NP's track record in such matters probably never will – all we can do is speculate.

Keeps the board busy I suppose.

"Nothing against your fans, but I feel your club has stitched us right up there, leaving it so late. Now we have no replacement for Rhodes"

Nothing against your fans, but i feel your club should have pulled their finger out and used some of the £8m received for rhodes to find a replacement.

Not if people were trying to pull our pants down to get their slice of the pie.

We'll leave reckless expenditure to the likes of you

I tend to try and judge these things on facts and not around speculation. I don't know what NP's relationship is like with his players or what remit he's been given in terms of transfer funds and wages.

I simply look at our squad and think that he let Bamba and Mills go without finding adequate replacements first. We're still short of experience and quality in midfield and letting Beckford go would have left us a striker short as the replacements for Vardy and Nugent don't appear to be good enough.

Our transfer activity has not been anywhere near as bold as other teams this year. This may be a legacy of the Sven lunacy, but it is still very notable.

I want NP to succeed and think he has some real qualities as a manager. I'm not, however, sure that he's put together a squad who can challenge at the right end of the table.

Excellent post Joby!

According to Bolton fans a donkey could replace Mills!

Bamba far too dangerous to be a consistant defender and is what the Hearts fans warned us about!

I'd definately agree we look short in defense, ironic being as not long ago everyone was arguing who should be picked ahead of others but .....the loan window isn't closed yet.

I'm just amazed how much vitriol is aimed at Pearson after 4 games in which we played very well in 3 of them with the first team squad, there will be time to add players in the winter window where required if the resources are there of course!

Opinions do not have to be based on facts True Blue. They are subjective and are judgements based on grounds insufficient to give true certainty.

You clearly believe Pearson is a good manager and the right man for the job. Based on what?

His critics generally base their opinions are what happened last season (in terms of results) and the seemingly ongoing feuds with a number of senior players - St Ledger, Mills and Beckford.

No one is saying that these players are entirely blameless but the job of "management" requires dealing with different personalities and getting rid of them could be seen as a failure to manage.

We were told to give NP a closed season to sort out he squad, which he deemed to be a shambles under Sven. But we are currently without real cover at centre-half (bad luck I admit, but he could have brought in a loan player) and if / when Beckford leaves, we will lack credible cover up-front. A bit of a shambles really !

I know this seems like a witch-hunt but this is the place where doubters have every right to express their concern - rather than booing their players down at the ground.

Like you, I want to see City succeed, whether under Pearson or not. But my opinion (based on some facts and some speculation) is that we will under-achieve - again.
