Kazakhstan v Ireland!!

So this is it. Next Friday Ireland begin their quest to qualify for the 2014 WC Finals to be held in Brazil with our opening group match away to Kazakhstan.

On paper we should be we well capable of picking up 3 points away from home against them.

But of course whether this happens or not depends on how the 11 players Trapatonni selects perform out on the pitch.

Will he go for his usual rigid 4-4-2 or change tactics to stop us being overrun in midfield (which believe it or not can even happen against the likes of next Fridays opponents).

Many questions to be answered before this fixture.

Only certainties thus far would appear to be Westwood, O'Shea,Whelan, Mc Geady and Keane to start.

Who will come in to replace the injured Dunne and Andrews, who will replace the retired Duff and who will play upfront with Keane?? Long,Doyle,Cox or Walters?

Will Mc Carthy and Mc Clean start the match??

As if it needs to be said anything less than 3 points from this match and an already tough task to sneak into the top 2 places becomes even harder.

Well whatever happens i'll be roaring my lungs out cheering them on.

3 points in the bag next Friday and i will be a happy man.

COYBIG!!!!

Seven redundancies at the FAI are due to happen and paycuts across the board.

Yet we still pay that idiot Delaney more than the football chiefs in Spain and Italy combined and that's with his 10% paycut!

Calling Meyler up is a good move but although the fans are calling out for change we know the Trapp has his system and only picks players to fit that system. The team should be built around the likes of Coleman, McCarthy, McClean, Clark etc.

How a manager as experienced and succesful as Trapatonni couldn't see the faults in his system at the Euro Finals beggars belief!!

Time for him to put his stubborness aside and start picking the 11 best players availble to him for a change !!

Time for him to go simple as that, cant teach an old dog new tricks!! We can look forward to more of the turgid approach with negative rubbish team with Trap's little favourites splattered all over the park, prob half the team out of position!!! This is quite possibly the bleakest period I've ever seen supporting Ireland!! FAI's gonna be in for a shock when they see the attendances this year, gonna be pitiful!! Everyone I speak too gets annoyed at the mere mention of Trap's name, he's so ridiculously past it and had he been working for anyone else other than the useless dysfunctional FAI he'd have been sacked straight after the Euros

That has to be Stauntons time at the helm...

I agree Arsenes but the fact remains Trapatonni has got a better pool of players to choose from than Staunton had!!

Tragically he is not using them!!

Yeah born after 1988 and he must have been on the other side of the world during the years 2002-2009 also because everyone who watches football knows we were MUCH WORSE then, than we are now.

You thought losing to Spain, Italy and Croatia was bad, have you forgotten the days we used to get spanked by the likes of Cyprus, Israel and Switzerland only a few years ago?

We were ranked lower than the north ffs!

It's all very well saying Trap out, but who do you want in to replace him?

What calibre of manager do you think our bankrupt association can actually afford???

Born in 76' so have plenty of memories of irish football from mid 80's onwards. The reason I say we're so bad now is because we find ourselves in a ridiculous situation where we have a geriatric manager who refuses to watch players, then arrives over and just picks players off memory, cares nothing for form, new emerging players, has his little favourites, plays players out of position, has his first 11 written in stone for months in advance???

I could go on and on, yet we pay this clown a small fortune and he thinks he's untouchable coz he won trophies 20 years ago!! Even though he actually is untouchable coz the FAI is the one common denominator who is actually even more useless than this dinosaur we have supposedly managing our team!! Not too mention he falls out with players over nothing, can barely communicate and regularly says stupid things about players that cause further strife. He's also shown himself to be woeful with his tactics?? His response to playing Spain was not abandoning the 442 but to stick Cox out wide??? If kerr, Staunton or McCarthy put that team out they'd have been strung up by the media yet il Trap the supposed European coaching master barely knows anything other than 442!!!

Fact is this old spoofer is way past it, football has moved on to new levels since he had any success. Even his buddy Brady had to abscond coz he knew he had no influence with Trap. We have a scout system led by Delaneys drinking buddy Don Givens, Mick Martin and Stapleton being paid to watch players coz our manager cant be bothered and yet why??? Trap cares nothing for players and their respective position, he has his formation written in stone and barely cares who fills the positions which is why guys like Keogh, Green, McShane, O'Dea have won so many caps, most of them won whilst being played out of position (except O'Dea). The current set up is a complete farce, players are clearly unhappy, Gibson playing out of his skin but cant get a look in over Paul Green??? Despite Trap telling him to move on which he did. McClean is going to be played in the middle this Friday, Coleman, Wilson, long, Hoolahan, McCarthy can barely get a kick whilst Paul McShane plays nothing for his club and was once a centre half can now look forward to being our new first choice right back, despite having Foley and Stephen Kelly?? The whole thing is ludicrous and offers no sense bar mental Trappish!!! Dysfunctional mess!! we simply wont nmove and develop until we're rid of this mess of a man, people need to realise and wake up, football is dying in this country. The mere mention of Trap's name puts a frown on peoples faces, the vast majority have had enough and we'll see that come the attendances in the Aviva during this campaign and turkey njeck Delaney can bury his head in thee sand all he wants and ignore the elephant in the room but it'll bit him hard further down the line, its inevitable
