What is Acceptable in 2011/12?

Why the hell should we expect anything more? The three teams above us spend more and wages and WAY more on transfer fees. Like it or not, money speaks in English football. A top 4 place and a CC would be a good solid step to something bigger.

I don't think a trophy is necessary what I think we need is a sign that we are showing some progress. We were showing progress up until Hleb and Flamini left in 2008. Even though we have had stabs at the title and other trophies since then I think that we have been incredibly stale and if anything gone backwards since 2008. What I want is to see we are going in the right direction. We have no divine right to be winning trophies but we as fans deserve progression at the very least. I will settle for 4th spot and no trophies as long as we have IMPROVED on last season because we simply have not improved in 3 seasons now.

True,but i think the trophy thing is becoming a mental issue now. If we go another season then it be will SEVEN years without a trophy. Even if we show progess, going that long without a trophy is going to be impossible for some fans to take. Also every year without a trophy just builds the pressure on the next match we might have where we get a chance to win something. Against Brum last season that played its part in the defeat imo.

SSN8, I don't think it is wrong for us not to expect a trophy I just don't see us winning one at all. Wenger has not shown me any signs this Summer that he would change his policy and try to bring us success another way. The reason I ask for a bit of progession is because it is the most I expect. If I am being perfectly honest I am no looking forward to next season at all. I think the only reason we will finish top 4 is because Spurs will lose Modric and Liverpool continuously make joke signings. Wenger will say that we have done well to finish 4th in a competitive league bla bla bla but the reality is we will finish 4th because our rivals are just too stupid.

Sometimes I wonder if Wenger will ever take us to the promised land again and the answer is always no. I don't know if he is just ridiculously stubborn or we are literally skint but for us to achieve success we need to make changes and I just don't see changes being made. The board seem happy with a 4th place finish so I don't see Wenger going anywhere soon even if it would make more sense for him to leave.
