Favourite Martin Tyler Moments

We all know that Martin Tyler is the best commentator ever to grace the Premier League, the Richie Benaud of football, but what is your favourite moment of his?

I personally remember this little piece the most fondly:

'Now Xavi...Koscielny to the rescue again...Bendtner to Wilsher, lovely passing, now Fabregas with a beautiful ball to Nasri...he's got support...ARSHAVIN!!!! Arsene Wenger's footballing philosophy put into practice, and not even Barcelona have an answer!'

Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I had to exchange my tickets for that game

He is a great commentator. Easily the best in England.

Real legendary commentator. One vs Villa where Cesc came on to score 2 then went off injured was good too.

And that was also the best cameo role ever from Cesc.

Martin Tyler Arsenal moments:

1998 League clincher - "Adams, put through by Bould, would you believe it?!"

2002 FA cup final - "Parlour...can he have crack here Ray PARLOURRRRRRRRRRRR!"

2002 League clincher - "Ljungberg, pushed out by Barthez...WILTOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRD!"

2004 Friday night beat down of Leeds by Thierry Henry - "...and lot's of green grass to run into; LIKE THIS! LIKE THIS! Electrifying! Electrifying! It's four, for the foremost striker."

Non Arsenal moments:

He was great value last season; the Sergio Agurerro call will go down as one of the greatest ever made and the Sunderland winner for Ji over City was also brilliance. His Federico Machadea yelp is another classic and I also enjoyed his "Simply Glorious" call in describing Zola to Poyet vs Sunderland in 2000, his description of Diego Maradona's goal vs England in 1986 ("That's one of the world cup great goals. Not quite Barry Davies in that instance - "And you have to say that's magnificent" - but captured the moment well as an enduring piece) and his genuine shock and astonishment in seeing Paulo DiCanio score that volley against Wimbledon.

Definitely one of sports great commentators.
