AVB needs to be given time

I lifted this article directly from another site... I think it is a good one.

"AVB inherited a team that got 5 points from 8 games at the back of the season.

Since then we have sold our best player an another one of our best.

All the other teams have strengthened. We bought 3 players in the last 3 days leaving no time to bed them in for the starting line up."

the article is correct. AVB has taken over a team that okay came 4th, but if you actually look at it, he took over a team in poor general form, with players playing without confidence at all. had we had an average first half of last season we would have been mid table with our run in performance.

He needs to be given some time without the fans on his back. i have faith that we will start picking up wins soon. In fact i think that we will win our next two games.

the coach chooses the players to play with the tactics he has tried to instill in them. once they are on the pitch it's up to them to follow those instructions. why then does he get all the blame. if they as a team or individuals make mistakes is that their fault or his? at the end of the day they cross the white line. most of them have been playing at club/premier league/international level for a while so surely they can defend/pass/play? i think its unfair to lay all the blame at avb.

Why do you think managers get the sack then, when things go wrong?

Why do managers need to be on the touchline, cant they just leave the team up on the notice board, tell each player what they need to do & go out shopping with their wives?

I've never known a single group of players to get the sack when results go wrong. Never ever.

thats because of player power.

players can get a manager sacked if they want.

Not if the manager is good at his job they wont. The manager usually get themselves sacked, by failing to get their teams to win on the pitch, through poor tactics, performances & decision making.

No doubt AVB will let the media think we have too many big egos in the dressing room when he's inevitably sacked about half way into the season.

I agree with Chronic this guy is a good manager so let us give him our support and the time he needs to do the job properly or we will land up like X-Factor !!

The thing is we've looked good in patches. The defence however has been quite suspect, just like it was at Chelsea under him.

What was his clean sheet record like at Porto?
