glad to see the back of him, but:
1. where have corinthians got that sort of money (50m) from, especially since they're building a new ground? in perspective, their 2009 total gross income - just £71m.
2. how on earth on top of that can they afford his wages?
3. since when did clubs in brazil buy players for big fees?
4. why would city, rolling in the cash, not let him go for much less?
i smell a financially doped rat. wouldn't be surprised if united/etihad airways suddenly pop up as corinthians long-term sponsor on a big money deal.
this IMO is the second big test for UEFA's FFP, the idea of using related 3rd parties outside europe to sign players at inflated fees to provide income for a club.
suspect deal

without tevez, city won't be able to compete for the premier league title next season, even a top four finish could be difficult.

Maybe you guy's need to be looking closer to home for dodgy characters and illegal deals. Rather than listening to the OP's paranoid ramblings about the 'Noisey Neighbours' check out Channel 4, 8pm tonight.

They got their money from an American tv advertising deal, some wum's must try harder!
Anyone heared about Brian Robson on tonight's dispatches, trying to break fa rules selling lower devision clubs to foreign owners / far east syndicates, what a corrupt little man, no wonder he was man u captain!

As mentioned by Greatteamswinit4times, a very good new TV deal has been struck. More generally, Brazil's economy is growing fast and its currency is strong.

i wouldn't put it past the arabs to buy a tv company, pump millions into tv rights in a minor league and use that cash to indirectly buy players for inflated amounts from europe via a feeder club arrangement.
outside uefa's jurisdiction, fifa won't touch it. FFP game over.

I was half expecting that mercenary to sign for Malaga, there's still time I suppose, but just to cement his status as the world's biggest and most expensive mercenary, he should join Malaga

Liverpool fan, in peace for once! in answer to question 3 rich franchises such as redbull who sponsor Neymar pay huge chunks of the wages, something which will happen with Tevez and maybe start spreading to places were they can't offer the attraction of huge wages
