Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey is set for talks over an improved deal at Arsenal that will keep him there until 2016.

I like Aaron, but I think he needs to prove he is worthy of a new contract IMO!

I know he had a serious injury, but he rarely gets goals/assists for the team!

Don't get me wrong, I think he had potential, he is still young, but he needs to step up a lot if he is going to replace anyone in that midfield

This is where bad assessment of player kicks in. He is another Denilson, Bendtner etc and we will be lumbered with the deal.

I wanted Ramsey on loan to prove that last season was an aberration. So we allow players of quality to leave and sign a player who was clearly unable to hack it at the top level after his injury.

Just ridiculous management by the clown Gazidis.

I believe, Wenger has his say as well. So you should blame both.

Wenger has his say as well
------------------------
Wenger would like everyone to have contracts. And in a French socialist way where everyone shares equally even though some players are in the first team, represent countries in the top 10 rankings, sell more shirts compared to players who have not regained their fitness after horrendous injuries.

I honestly don't think this is Wenger prompted. Arsene said he wanted 3 contract situations sorted at the end of last season. RVP, Song and Walcott. Guess what? The first 2 have already left and the third wants to stay but Gazidis doesn't want to agree a deal. Last time a CEO failed to do what Arsene wanted, he was FIRED. Edelman decided to go against Wenger advise on Flamini till it was too late and Arsene laid down an ultimatum. The board had no choice. And I see a similar situation coming if they don't agree a deal with Theo.

I believe Gazidis's actions is to mollify the crowd after the mess they have made in the summer. Gazidis has badly misjudged the situation. Just like he did with Djourou last year.

Frankly if we had RVP as Arsene initially planned, we would have been the favourites for the premier league.

Ramsey will likely only have a couple of years left on his deal.

He's also been in poor form, but it is improving. That makes now the perfect time to sign him up as he isn't thinking he's worth loads more than he's on. He'll sign on reasonable terms & have greater resale value if he doesn't improve, but if he does, he's tied down long term.

It also makes him feel the club believe in him.

Perfect time to sign him up.

Will he? Why? Ramsey is not English. Frankly the media are already on the back of Joe Allen, and he performed well against us.

I don't think Ramsey has a resale value. No one is going to pay millions for a players whose pace has gone. There is a secondary market for English players. There isn't one for Aaron if he cannot prove his pace. And he doesn't have it, even when he comes on as a sub. .

This is not a situation to sign a player whose value is low because he has a recoverable injury. The boy has no acceleration whatsoever. It is signing another player who won't be wanted on large wages. Just like Djourou. It was laughable at the end of the season when Djourou's agent was begging for a move. Not a sniff. And with that contract he will be at Arsenal till the very end. Just like Ramsey.

He hasn't done anything to justify the money he's already on.

One of the most promising young players in Britain who struggled in the most important role in our fairly rubbish team after a year out. Listen to you lot.

If he didn't sign, then starts playing well, you'd be the same fans barracking Gazidis for not getting his contract sorted.

Bad from you.

Ramsey has done nothing to warrant a payrise. As far as I'm concerned he's got to do a lot more before it can even be considered. We haven't seemed to learn from the mistakes we made before: rewarding mediocrity.
