Wigan have placed an advert on their Web Site asking for an assistant coach.
I think it a bit strange that with the impending return to the NRL of Maguire at the end of the season no mention has been made regarding the posistion of Head Coach. I would think that anyone applying for the posistion of assistant would want to know who they would be working under.
Everyone is expecting the Head Coach to be Shaun Wayne,so why are Wigan being so secretive. See Advert Below
'Wigan Warriors - Assistant Coach / Junior Coaches.
Wigan Warriors are offering an exciting opportunity to a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic additional Assistant Coach. The position will commence in November of 2011 as preparations begin for the 2012 Super League season. The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with the First Team Squad and will contribute to all areas of the Performance Department working alongside the Rugby General Manager, Head of Sports Science and Video Analyst'.
Just spotted, maybe the wording in the advert 'additional Assistant Coach' means something.
Coaching at Wigan.

the answer to that might answer ur query regarding the wording.
if there is only one assistant coach now, then wayne is getting help to assist the new head coach.

Can I nominate Richard Agar please?

This seems very strange, one would expect the head coach to appoint his own assistant or in fact bring one with him who he already knows......very strange indeed.

Souths.
The only thing I can think of is that the job will be offered to Wayne but they may think he does'nt have the experiance to choose his own assistants, hence the advert.
A lot of talk over the last few weeks was that Paul Schulthorpe would be his assistant .
Putting another twist on it,maybe Nathan Brown at Hudds told his players that he was to be the Wigan coach, could explain the Bradford result yesterday.

Spoke to Scully a few weeks back Owdun, he has no intention of going into coaching. Shame I think he'd of been a good un

Schulthorpe would be an excellent appointment....he would looked up to by the players and have the discipline required to keep a team on the right path & condition.
