Credit where it's due ....

I was talking to someone last night (briefly - he's a mate of my dads) who has until quite recently been quite high up at the CG, and maintains strong links to a number of senior figures within the club.

He told me that Mark Arthur has been working ridiculously hard since the takeover took place, and it is partly down to his hard work, determination, negotiating skills and meticulous dedication that we ended up signing the majority of the players we did, on such good deals.

This got me thinking really. Will NFFC fans finally stop the ridiculous witch-hunt that has turned Mark Arthur into a pantomime villain, or will they finally see him for what he is; a loyal and important member of the NFFC management structure who works tirelessly for our cause?

Thoughts?

"No the point of my article is to stand up for someone who has been made into a massive scapegoat and has received a ton of unwarranted criticism over the last few years. "

And my point was if he's damned when it goes badly shouldn't he be praised when it goes well? I'm not sure he should but I wasn't in the anti-Arthur gang in the first place. You didn't answer that question Leonard.

No why would I?

I don't think I've brought him up as a topic on here since the day we sacked him. Its was a comment on your new role as seeker of truth and justice, righter of wrongs, defender of the weak.

It's fairly obvious that MA was ND's mouth piece and said and did what Nigel wanted him to. Nigel ran the club as his hobby, the debt was used as a stick to clobber the supporters when dissent with the bad decission making grew to loud.

I don't think deep down that ND wanted a return to the EPL. Clough's legacy and the weight of supporter expectation would have been colossal. Perhaps in the early days under Pratt he did, but things changed with satalite broadcasting and Sky money driving up player wages and transfer fees.

To meet the fans expectations after promotion will require a ground hosting 35 to 40,000 supporters paying £40 a seat.......how's that going to work?

Nigel didn't have an answer to that without external funding, does any one else?
