I'm glad the transfer window is closed

I can't help feeling that maybe our board would have sold off Ivan, Sturridge or Terry.

Why on earth was Meireles sold?

Not anymore, everytime he plays i get nervous now, think age and all the back problems have caught up with him, makes far more mistakes too frequently now. Still a great defender but i'd just prefer Luiz/Cahill Ivanovic/Cahill Ivanovic/Luiz and while Terry is still here he'll always be the 1st name on the sheet, same as with Lamps and its not good enough anymore.

And i do like Sturridge and want us to keep him but i've got a feeling he'll end up fkin off anyway at the end of season

So you want Terry to play reguarly and Sturridge over Torres. Sure you're not a spurs fan undercover

I think rdm has been unfair to sturridge so far, the lad should be given a start, he is rearing to go, in the game b4 the atletico defeat he came on and changed the game, the guy has got talent, its just unfortunate that ppl only see the bad side of him ie his greed and selfishness but most potent strikers have to be a bit greedy to excel. He should be given a start up front if you ask me.

I really don't know why most Blue fans would rather value one torres goal than 3 from sturridge, it pains me

1L come on, this is John Terry you're talking about, he's had a couple of mistakes lately but he has been an absolute monster defensively for years and to write him out of the team, even if we do have Luiz and Cahill, is a mistake.

Torres has 3 goals from 5 games this season Back To Eden.

And i know it is too early to write him off TCW but as i said i just think the injuries along with age are taking it's toll on him now. Got my fingers crossed it is just a blip but just think we do have to move on eventually and Cahill reminds me of a younger JT and hate to see him or Luiz having to keep sit on the bench. Thats the annoying part of having so many good defenders i guess

I think the difference is Back To Eden is that Sturridge plays for himself and Torres plays for Chelsea and that's what the majority of the fans see.

Last season he barely passed, barely tracked back, constantly shot and on and on. He had a great first few months then when the goals dried up there was nothing coming from him because all he was doing was being selfish.

Whereas when Torres was barely scoring at least he was working for the team and assisting / passing / creating chances etc.

Sturridge is also a very arrogant person and a lot of people don't like this.

It does look like he has improved as he seems to pass a lot more now and back-track so fingers crossed it's a new Sturridge because i don't care how much talent you have if you play for yourself you aint ever going to get anywhere.

Also one final point which is where i think most fans began to turn on Sturridge was the Leicester game. All game Sturridge was selfish, barely passed, always shot and barely defended.

Then in the last few mins Torres was on a hat-trick and was in a good position to shoot but instead of shooting and trying to get the hat-trick he saw Meireles in a better position and passed. And that game just put Sturridge to shame and highlighted how little of a team player he was

I think we see the importance of Terry more when he's not playing, than when he is...if that makes sense

It does, at least to me
