What might of been!!!

Im just thinking if Eduardo didnt get injured during the 07/08 season and we didnt suffer that loss of form and won the league. Would we have won more trophies since then?

I think people would have realised that we're back and we'd look more attractive. I think we'd have won at least an FA Cup since then imo.

What do you guys think?

I told you your pedantry would come back to haunt you.

Been a pleasure talking to you Kamran.

The loss of Eduardo doesn't mean it lost you the league though.

Had Eduardo stayed fit and you'd not had a loss of form, who's to say that you would have handled the pressure of fighting for the league all the way to the end? Arsenal have a habit of being bottlers and I don't think it would have been any different.

You got quite close to Chelsea and United that season, but effectively all of the pressure was on the those two teams with Arsenal trailing and being allowed to carry on with their business and finished 4 points off the top.

Likewise, Dog.

in 07/08 we were clearly the best team from august to march.

we lost confidence and bottled it yes. but the media go on about how good united were then and they should cause united came first. they dont go on about how good we were cause we came 3rd (2nd should have been the lowest position that season considering how good we were)

We wouldn't have bothered with Chamakh.

We won the double in 08, of course the media are going to go on about how good we were, because we were fantastic! Take into account Ronaldo's amazing season that year also, and it's clearly a massive talking point.

I don't really understand what point you're trying to make though. It is quite obvious that a team that finished 3rd, and didn't contain a player that wpoty, will not be spoken as in the same breath as us, despite how good you were.

im saying they are obviously going to go on about how good man united were and im not saying they shouldnt. im saying despite the media not mentioning it we were very good that season and deserved 2nd at least

That's fair enough. I guess it's usually the case though that the team that doesn't win, even if they were very good, doesn't get much of a mention.

Liverpool finishing second is the only one I can think of in recent times, and that's probably due to the media love in with them.

Arsenal played some exceptional football that season. But I still think you'd have fallen short even with Eduardo. For all your fantastic play you seem to lack winners and leaders when it's not going for you. That's been the big difference between you and us and Chelsea.
