Sagna next one to call it a day at Arsenal?

Sagna, one of the most experienced members of the Arsenal squad having played 153 times in the Premier League following his arrival in 2007, says he fully anticipated the departure of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

But Arsenal's readiness to allow Song to move to Barcelona for a fee of £15 million has left the France international confused.

“At Arsenal, you’re back from holidays, you prepare and you see two of the players leave when competition returns. That’s the way it is since I am here. I’m used to it now.

Van Persie, I expected it. All of us expected it. It was 'obvious', if I shall put it in English.

But Alex Song for Barcelona… What a surprise. He is 24, he had three years left. I still can’t understand. It is a huge loss for the club. When the two best players go, you ask questions. Fans come up in street, I understand frustration. Like them I dont understand everything"

Sagna has two years remaining on his own contract and, after admitting he felt jealous seeing former team-mates Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri win the Premier League last season, the defender said Arsenal have not made any effort to secure his future.

"I'm the only starting player left from 2007. In May, I watched City's parade on TV. I saw Samir & Gael lift the trophy. I want that. Were Gael and Samir right to leave? Yes, but we didn't know then."

When asked if the club had approached him regarding a new contract, Sagna replied: "No. Nothing and nobody. I have 1 year left at the end of the season"

When pressed if he wanted to leave the club as well, Sagna said: "I just want to play again, be good on the pitch with Arsenal and then we will see."

You have to remember that Tevez was Awol most of last season. And he is back and settled.

Secondly the man city players won the league in the team in their first season, lot of players came in and started straight away. These players have been retained. Had a season of experience. And a proper pre season with the club. Better prepared imo.

Johnson hardly featured for city, bench warmer, though was quality for the bench. Replaced with younger and for the future.

I haven't even mentioned Chelsea. Hazard is the player if the season so far for me, don't mean much with just 3 games.

Also Clevs and Ando I do not rate imo either when looking at the top players of the pl. Would not even make city bench, just for example.

Sinclair I.e is better then them two also.

Johnson was a super sub though, quality that deserved to be playing week in week out. Which is why he left. Would slip into the first team of most. But only proves my statement of depth in the squad when they had that quality sitting on the bench not getting a look in.

Yeh they had that quality, yet only just won the league on points. For me Sinclair is worse than Johnson. Rodwell no better than De Jong. So how do you rate the other signings? The last few times I've seen Maicon he's looked past it, but that is only a couple of games, not seem much of him really.

I can only say that last season would not have been a contest if City had Tevez through out the whole season.

I didn't think they needed to strengthen, the team they had last season would still compete with man u as they are now. Agree, if tevez didn't go Awol, they would have won the league.

Again, I think Utd season now balances on RVP. And if he gets injured, games like southampton would have been lost by a country mile. Garcia is quality. Player that have come in are just backup. Maybe co.c players.

I mean won the league by a clear earlier victory.

All City have done is make Pizzaro type signings which are only to add depth. Javi Garcia is quality though.

I've heard a lot of people say Garcia is quality, bit only seen bits of pieces myself, so won't comment. But other than him, have they really strengthened that much? I think they are marginally stronger than last season in terms of signings, whereas United have made slightly better signings. However, Tevez available for a full season will be a big boost. Which will hopefully be balanced out by United not having so many injuries. I don't think there is anything in it.
