Well the new season can't come quick enough now and I reckon it will be crunch time for Clark, who we all know will eventually end up at his beloved Magpies providing he can deliver the goods for Town and take us into the Championship.
So for me this season is definitely a massive one for my hero Clark and I reckon he won't let us down at the third time of asking. No one can seriously argue that he's not made a good fist of it so far and his overall results since taking charge have been good, no matter what the disenters would have us believe.
Looking at the League I can't see who will stop us winning an auto place this season, although there's bound to be a dark horse in there among the runners who will come to the forefront like Brighton did last season.
My feelings are that Town and Charlton will go up automatically and Preston and MK Dons will fight it out for the third spot.
Although I'm always optomistic by nature, I reckon Town led by Clark have now the required amount of experience to make it this year, especially after last seasons sterling effort and if Clarky wants his dream job, then he has to deliver the goods and I believe he will.
Does anyone else share my thought's for the coming season - if not who are you lot tipping for promotion and where do you reckon Town will finish up?
CRUNCH TIME FOR CLARK?

38,
Town picked up 10 points from the 18 contested against Brighton, Soton & Posh when he was up against the managers you say he was measured against, including doing the double over champions Brighton.
What you conveniently forget is that the other three managers had far more luck with injuries and none unlike Clark, had to contend with losing key men such as Johnson, Pilkington and Roberts for long periods.
You and others can knock Clark all you wish, but at the end of the day we only just missed out on promotion and with a little bit more luck we would have made it.
As for those who say we have only sold 8500 tickets and fans are now voting with their feet, they have obviously forgotten we are in a recession and how many other clubs excluding the promoted ones, do they reckon will hold or increase their gates next season?
Finally, it makes me laugh when fans say Brighton have probably spent less than Town on wages and transfers, but then conveniently forget to mention they have just spent £105 million on a new stadium, or dosen't that count?

the new stadium doesn't count at all as that is eff-all to do with the manager, players or performances...

mirf..
its a league...its over 46 games..
im reminding you of this, hope someone is reminding lee clark..
also that its 3 points for a win now....a good "solid" draw only gets the same points as a sh-tty scrappy one...
also, he wouldnt try and talk sh-te to geordies after some of the performances last season, why the hell does he think he can get away with it here???????? ars-....

38,
A lot of your away match reports last season were very critical of our performances, yet we still finished up with the best away points tally (39) of all 92 football league clubs.
So, providing we can pick up the same number of points on our travels next season, I couldn't care two hoots how many "sh-tty scrappy" games we are involved in as long as the end product is promotion.

But the end product wasn't promotion last season, that was the problem. The end product was a horrid depressing and humiliating day in Manchester which could have easily been avoided had Clark actually wanted to win matches.

Mirf - The end product was failure. Our game was a tepid long ball, dull uninspiring percentage performances which won ourselves no friends throughout football.
We played a style of football which i do not associate with my Town, A style of football that doesnt attract the floating fans, I had mates from work come to a couple of games, They would have come to more but left unimpressed on each occasion.
I never saw us play with any proper gusto during the unbeaten run, Surely confidence would be sky high during such a run, It should have been, Clarky n co should have been radiating good vibes through to the squad, It should have been a joy to go training, was it ?
I could have taken the dour stuff if it had guaranteed promotion, It didnt,
As you say spending cash doesnt guarantee it, Nor does playing good footy.
But if your spending some cash at least play some good footy, get it down on the deck with a fast tempo.
No complaints about tiredness, What with 64 central midfielders to choose from ! everyone should be fresh.

dour home wins and dour away wins bring 3 points..
dour home draws and dour away draws bring a point..
we had far too many of the dour draws home and away..
he failed, the team failed...dress it up how you like...
as stated above if the dour sh-te we turned out in many games had been successfull id have taken it.. but it didnt... i live and die by my year end returns, not how well i did in any particular month or period of the year, clark is the same..

True 38, we looked like eleven individuals who had just been assembled from outside the ground before the game.
Also, if you can't be full of confidence after 25 games unbeaten when the hell are you going to be confident, so how come we got stoffed 3-0....
We never looked confident, or assured or likely to score goals...dour cr@p.

I think a big factor in Town's failure last season was the home support...
think about it, the away support sing, encourage, chant and cheer and generally give good vibes to the players - we ended the season with the best away record in the whole league...
home supporters moan, whinge, whine, complain, get on the player's backs, BOO, sing only one song and then only if we're winning, and generally give off bad vibes to the players...
agree with the style of the football though, "hoof it and hope" is not what I want to see my team playing thank you very much... let's start a) passing the football - TO A TEAM-MATE (I'm looking at you Liability Kay) - b) crossing the football (instead of cutting inside and shooting) - maybe then our other strikers will start scoring - c) defending - nuff said - d) last but not least...
Let's SUPPORT the team, ESPECIALLY when we are LOSING!!! (we might turn more games around then... )
