I'm absolutely ecstatic about Murray's performance last night, well worth staying up for, even if I do feel like death today. I realised that seeing Murray win a Major gave me as much pleasure as it would to see England win a major tournament.
When Djokovic went on that incredible run after winning his first major I had a horrible feeling it was going to be near impossible for Murray to win one, but he has raised his game once again and has rightly earned a place alongside 3 of the strongest players ever to walk on a court.
I'm sure the other guys must feel pressure but I genuinely believe that Murray will have had more weight on his shoulders than any of those guys over winning his first Major. He knew he was good enough but knowing it and taking that final step are two completely different things. I know I was delighted for him, but my overall feeling was relief that he'd finally overcome the biggest hurdle in his career, and I think judging by his reaction after he won, he probably felt the same too.
All credit to Novak as well, the way he pushed Murray on every point was amazing, and he contributed just as much to probably the best match I've watched since Federer vs Nadal in 2008.
This really does top an incredible year for British sport, and while he may be a bit shy, I would certainly give my vote for Sports Personality of the Year to Andy.

Why not?
I take as much joy from seeing Murray win a Major as I would seeing England win the World Cup.
I can feel how I like thank you, thought police.

All the other players beat nobody in their first finals. Murray has had to do it the hard way.
Feds first 10 GS were against old, unfit or just krap players.
