Who has been trying to rewrite history?
And how does this pointless award redress the balance??
=========================================
You should read more articles posted on this forum about "you bought it" "I don't recognise your win" "the worse team too win it" etc.
The accolade doesn't redress the balance, I never said that, but being selected as the best in Europe by your peers says something surely.

In 1955 we won the league and qualified for what is now known as the CL, the competition was in it's inaugral year and Chelsea were advised by the FA not to enter what they saw as a "pointless competition".
Had we entered then who knows how our future may have developed differently. Sometimes what seems to be a pointless competition or award can develop into something very prestigious.

In this country it used to be "if we didn't invent it, then it's not kosher".
This was not only football (European Cup, World cup) but also politics such as the EEC.

You know for a Club that's apparently, not done anything in it's entire history we seem a lot of honours that a lot of our detractors don't have!!
