The long wait is over, Brtiain has finally produced a slam winner. Now the question is as how much credit can be given to Lendl?
What changes did he bring in Murray as compared to past 4 years?
One thing which I have observed is to disregrad lesser tournaments including masters. Murray lost to Chardy and some saw that as a sign of going out of form but in reality it seems that it was tanking. A leaf which is probably taken from Fed's book of success. This is where probably Novak is going wrong at the moment. Novak it seems have won more matches compared to anyone else in the whole year but on the downside he has lost 2 finals and one important semi.
Second, could be not entriely sure but I think that Murray has slightly calmed down on the court (not a lot though).
Third, the serve seems to have more venom and looking stronger than before.
Fourth, fitness seems to have become better.
Fifth, mental toughness. Andy of 2008-2011 might have lost the last night match but this Murray has more resolve. He knew he could win and did that. In the past he knew that he could win but failed to execute it (Wimby SF against Nadal 2011).
To conclude, I have just read Lendl's comments that Andy's best is yet to come, if that's true then we can expect at least 4 more slams.
Lendl and Murray

It's something I do with the kids.
When we get them to move a player from side to side to side we call it an Ice Move.....the kids love it when they see it on tv or in a match as they recognise it and shout it out...hilarious at a competitive match and one of their mates do it and when point is over they all fist pump and shout Ice Move.
Then there's the Thunder Move, Jelly Legs and Bambi....kids love fun names!

Andy has always had a FH. Just never the confidence to really back the shot. I think what Lendl has brought to the table is the frequency of it's use. Not every FH has to be a winner. The FH down the line on the run is scary. He done it against Lopez in the 2nd set and against Berdych. It looks so off balance, but it is low and deep.
Yesterday he hit flat FH's and BH's down the deuce court. Yes conditions prevented out right winners, but how many times did he hit a deep FH to the BH side of Djokovic and force him off balance? It doesn't need to be a winner, just a shot that can create a point winning opportunity. I think Lendl has brought that on.
I also think Lendl has encourage more approach play at the net. That lovely BH slice at the net in the first game yesterday was gorgeous.
His on court demeanour has changed. The shoulders are not slumped and his posture is so much more upright. Not so much of the ebbs and flows with his frustration that accompanied his game in the past. That Lopez match. The old Murray would've been gone in 5. He grinded a result out.
The BH CC slice again another retrieving shot that has seen more of the light of day. It keeps so low. That is a pay your bills kind of shot.

more determination. Past Andy would have lost the first 2 sets.

Played 6 tiebreakers in the tournament and he won all 6.
This tournament has shown what mental fortitude he has now.
I mean just wow. He has really won this tournament on guts alone.

And everytime it looked easy, he made it dramatical. Lopez match was tough, so was against Cilic and Berdych.
There are so many parallels between Lendl and Murray's first win. It was not easy for Lendl, he was down and out but still won and so did Andy. Funny thing is that I never liked Lendl because of his boring attitude but I do like Andy.

Jonty, so what 's thunder move and Bambi
I loved the point in the game last night in which djoko fell down on the ground after chasing around 30 balls from Murray. Some good points played by both of them, although a lot of times the match was boring as well.
Fed's void will be really difficult to fill

I think Andy realised he wanted to compete at the highest level in the big matches and he went and appointed the toughest competitor the game has seen.
Lendl was professional through and through and Andy related to him and vice versa.
Perfect fit.

We need summerblues 2020 thread to be reopened again to see how the predictions for slams are going?

Andy now has the mental strength and belief. I got panned on here a while back for saying that the USO is where we will see the Lendl factor come to fruition.
So glad i was proved right
