Surely we all we knew there had been a cover up from day one. The police mis-handled the whole thing and after that everyone joined in the conspiracy.

Ticketless Liverpool Fans? Don't think so for an FA Cup semi.
Medical staff kicked out of the gym where the injured were lying.
Liverpool players pleading with the police to open the fence gates.
The list goes on and on........
This cover-up is unbelievable but also very believable in this day and age. Why didn't we know years ago that Grobbelar had heard Liverpool fans asking for help and asked police to open up the fences? Or did we?
It's no good directing your anger at The Sun. They published what they were fed by a well organsied police/government machine.
And at the end of day, is anyone going to be held accountable for the hideous events on that day? I doubt it.
You don't have to answer any of my rantings. I just wanted to express some empathy with people who lost friends and relatives in the tragedy and absolute ANGER at officialdom that thought it could get way with brushing everything under the carpet.

To suggest that there were not ticket less fans at Hillsborough that day is ridiculous. if you knew how football was in those days you would know this. For FA cup semis and finals, pre Taylor, forgeries, especially when it was united or Liverpool, were rife. People even climbed fences, scaled the Wembley Towers and even kicked down fences etc to get in. I have seen it with my own eyes. It is the way it was back in the day. The FA Cup was huge... much more than the Div 1 Championship ever was. To deny this is also hiding the truth. However, this has nothing to do, or the reason with what happened that day.

I think one of the worst aspects is the fact that this was a disaster waiting to happen. I heard a programme on BBC local radio last night that stated there had been two 'near disasters' at Hillsborough previously. One involved Spurs, can't remember the other. How SWFC and the City Council didn't rectify issues after these near misses is astounding.
