Business leaders back a West Ham move.

Chief Executive of the East London Business Alliance, Liam Kane said, “West Ham have been at the heart of East London for longer than I care to remember. A move to the Olympic stadium would not only allow all the fans who can’t get tickets now to see the games but, more importantly, the jobs generated by the move, both during construction and in operation, would be very welcome for the unemployed residents of the area." Kane added that, “Having Premier League football in Stratford would also ensure it keeps its global reputation, which in turn brings greater exposure and value to the commercial appeal of the park."

CEO of the Excel Centre Kevin Murphy believes that, “West Ham United have played a pivotal role in the local community for a great many years, making a major contribution to the social regeneration of East London. No one is better placed to take hold of the legacy baton after the games and be at the heart of a lively and busy Olympic Stadium."

Now I know what some of you more cynical souls may be thinking, of course these two guys back West Ham when an alternative could be a new company moving in, a company which may be in competition with their own. Well shame on you, don’t be like that.

'West Ham United are reportedly wanting to convert the Olympic Stadium, if they are awarded with the lease, into a multi-purpose venue.

When the Hammers' proposed move into the stadium was made public, many fans had issues with the inclusion of a running track around the pitch, and other sports fans were concerned with the legacy the stadium would provide if the track was removed. It is reported that West Ham have devised the perfect solution - retractable seating covering the running track during football matches and concerts.

The inclusion of the extra seating would also boost the stadium's capacity to around 100,000 for certain events, and the East London club has proposed to offer thousands of sensibly priced football tickets.'
