prison sentences

So (most of) the truth is out now. We have seen the report, the disgraceful cover ups, and the shameful behaviour of those in authority. Now somebody needs to pay. There should be long prison sentences and I know that this is not about money but the victims families need to sue the disgusting excuse for a human being, Kelvin Mackenzie, for every penny he has got ! Yes sue him for libel, for what he wrote and the 23 years that he stood by every word.

Mckenzie is full of his own importance, any apology from him is an empty gesture, he's made his true feelings know on numerous occasions, he's a vile creature who peddles poison for financial gain. All this "i was misled" nonsense is not going to fool anyone.

Why is he apologising? for 23 years he's stood by his original views, and reiterated them during this time, who's he kidding.

Yep in 2006 he said he had no intention of apologising and stood by every word. Only apologising now because he has no choice. He is truly vile.

prison sentences is going too far in my opinion.
======================================
Why ?
Perverting the course of justice, whilst being employed to uphold law and order in this country, should undoubtedly carry a prison sentence.
If you or I did likewise, in regard to a case involving the loss of a single life, let alone 96 lives, we would be given a custodial sentence for such actions.
I couldn't give a flying toss if these officers are dead, retired, ill, or whatever. If they are found to be guilty, then they should be exposed to the full course of the law, and in the case of officers who may be dead now, they should be posthumously named and shamed for their actions.

You people are acting like this is the only time that this kind of police cover up has taken place. Look at the Birmingham Six, who were released from prison at around that time because the police set them up or the Guildford Four. Liverpool fans are not the first group that have been mistreated by the police and the establishment and some groups have been treated far worse.

Or look to the News of the World scandal, you have the very top people at the Met drinking champagne with journalists, making extra cash for themselves whilst selling stories. Or what about the Lawrence enquiry. The police have always been like this. Don't pretend that they were only like this in this case.

I'm finding it worrying about some of the remarks about Margaret Thatcher as well. As has been shown on this site many times, the majority of the users were probably not even born when she was in power, but here you are jumping on the band wagon. The country was on its knees when the Conservatives took over, much worse than now, despite what the media would have us believe. Tough decisions needed to be made.

This is getting off topic but my god how can you say Miss Thatcher ever did an once of good for this country. She sold off everything we own to the private sector and told Ragen to do the same thing. Why do you think China make everything now. Its cause she decided it would be a better idea to make short term profits and fudge to the long term stability of the country she was serving. Not ruling but serving! The only reason she every completed her first term was because of a war with Argentina. I hope she lives in her demented state forever so she can see what she has done to the world.

Not that I really care clearly :o)

"Why do you think China make everything now."

Because the unions wouldn't budge on anything and so they got what they deserved; their jobs taken off them and handed over to people who won't go on strike. In the 70s there were strikes which left unburied corpses because the unions wouldn't let workers bury them, 3 day weeks due to the unions.

Luckily times have changed. You adapt or die.

Not an unvalid point but fact is it was her who started the whole business of outsourcing manufactering and what made it worse was getting the yanks onside to do the same is one reason (though I know by no means the only one) why we are so screwed now!
