According to today's Mockery.
Personally, I'm against it. I don't think James is anyway near ready and Richie is just coming back from injury so we don't want to get into the same situation we did over centre-halfs.
He was pants against Burton (not on his own) but did enough towards the end of last season to deserve a chance.
Discuss.
Colin wants Danns.

Would be gutted if Danns went. As soon as DD or Andy King fall out of form (which will happen at some point) he would be the first name on my team sheet.
Danns himself clearly has a problem with not being picked with regards to his "tweets". I know he said he was replying to someone but you have to be a mug to believe that - it was a clear cut dig.
I hope he doesnt go anyway - he just needs to wait for his turn.

I see little benefit in dumping decent players just because they're not getting in the team at the minute. For me, James is ahead of him, and he has created issues for himself by whining at the world on Twitter. (Has there ever been anything more damaging to player/fan relations?) However, hopefully he's taking a more mature attitude after the disaster that was the Burton game and is prepared to try hard in training and earn a spot back in the team.
If he isn't, then Colin can have him gladly.

Generally I've been a bit disappointed with Danns during his time at Leicester. He did have one spell towards the end of last season (up to the point where he got sent off) when he started to show some form and I was hoping for more to come.
I agree with others though that we shouldn't be rushing to shift him out. There might be better players out there, but whilst he's 3rd or 4th choice he's only an injury or two from being required in the team.
Like Beckford I think we should only sell if we're confident that we can quickly secure someone better.

Joby - I suspect that most of your uncertainty about Danns emanates from the start of last season (when he was played out of position) and just perhaps, a cruddy performance against Burton - for which he was rightly criticised.
But think back to how effective he looked when played in the right position (attacking/central midfield) towards the latter half of last season.
Personally, I prefer King in that role but if (as is reasonably likely) he gets injured, Danns is the natural replacement.

We'd be mad to sell him unless he's become an unsettling influence - we're not exactly replete with midfield options at the moment.
Drinkwater and Kingy are an obvious first choice, but if one of those gets injured/suspended then we've only really got Matty James who has so far struggled to adapt to this level. He's only young and I'm sure he will, but I wouldn't like to risk everything on him like that.
Danns is a wise head who has a role to play. Whether he's prepared to accept that role of course is a different matter entirely.

In the article the mercury states that they are also after tonge if they don't get danns, well they have just announced the signing of tonge so does this mean we refused to let danns leave and he does have a part to play? Let's hope so

Prawn,
I wasn't at the Burton match so I judge him purely on his performances last season.
Personally I think he's OK: he works hard, he drives forward in possession and gets his fair share of goals. However, he can't pass and he's not creative and can be a headless chicken at times. He was poor up until January last season when he had a few good months.
The trouble is I'm also not convinced about James yet.
I said at the start of the season that we were short in midfield (in terms of quality and not numbers) so it's a good job that King is back in form to play alongside Drinkwater.

All comes down to his attitude from me as well. If es happy to stay and fight for his place he's good back up.
If, as his twitter comments suggested, he's causing a bit of a stink because he's not playing then get rid.
He's never shown enough for me to think he should e first pick.
