Lawros scathing report

Lawros prediction this week is a 2-1 defeat not unrealistic mind, but iys the way he wrote about us that is disappointing.

I've got to agree with Lawro. We have a shocking record up there, it's their first home game of the season, we don't score goals, we let a few in and al our players have been on International duty bar Suarez. Allen has been injured for Wales, Lucas is out, Gerrard playd two games and Reina is on poor form.

I'm hoping that with recent highly publicised event this will galvanise the squad and we will see a performance. Hopefully Sahin is closer to match fitness having played for Turkey and Assaidi is ready to take part.

Our away performances under BR have all been poor so far.

Seems like a normal prediction to me. Better than his normal 2-0 for the home team or 1-1 when the better team is playing away.

Overall a fair assessment of Sunderlands strength's, our weaknesses, and the toughness of the fixture.

His derisory comments of tiki-taka just outs him as a relic of a dinosaur who really means "I just wished teams would abandon this foreign style and hoooof it sideways all match, every match in the hopes we might just head in enough of them to win. Like in the good old days"

I don't agree Redconn. I think he is saying if you conceed goals and don't score any you won't win games. So far he is right. Unless I've missed something.

Selling penetrative players and replacing them with short passers was always going to be a problem with Suarez as the spearhead, I'm just hoping our players gel into it and find a way of scoring goals and quickly.

Hoody, it was the snide swipe at tiki-taka I was referring to

He seems to imply it's the cause of the problem

In a way, he has a point. I have seen quite a few teams try to adopt some of this into their game this season.

The trouble is they are not Barcelona. And a lot of it is over elaboration with no end result.

Watch some live games over the weekend and count how many times someone will get the ball and tap it straight back to the peson who gave it to him without gaining any movement up the field, or advantage, and then repeat it again.

It really is annoying. When Messi and Xavi do it, I really would like to see someone whoop them up in the air. Bit like the old days wtht Tommy Smith, or Norman Hunter.

I just imagined it.

...and then tried to make the face myself.
