Match Preview v Southampton

It's finally back! After a long and mostly boring international break we get back to the proper stuff. Club football! From what I gather, the internationals have been relatively easy on us with regard to injury. Except of course with the news that Abou Diaby has a slight problem. We all hope it's slight too! Although, the last time he had a slight problem we didn't see him for a year! :/

Today, The Arsenal face newly promoted Southampton at The Emirates. By no means will this be an easy game! As well as Wigan, they have taken both of the Manchester clubs all the way - losing out 3-2 on both times I think? So we're going to have to be switched on both defensively and offensively! We need to see the desire of the team to keep that clean sheet record going! We need to see that sharp, quick passing and movement from the attacking players. If we do both of those then I have no doubt that we will pick up the 3 points!

As for team news, we're looking pretty strong, with Abou the only player to pick up a knock whilst on international duty making him 50/50 for today. I doubt Arsene will risk him to be honest. Especially with all the big games coming up! Theo has been struggling with a virus and The Ox was looking quite tired on Tuesday night! As for returning players, Szcezsny and Koscielny are back in the squad. In my opinion, Kozza will have to make do with a place on the bench but I think Szcezsny has to go straight back in! After all, he's our No.1! Despite Vito doing well and not putting a foot wrong, it's the way it works!

My Predicted Line-up:
Szcezsny
Jenkinson Mertesacker Vermaelen Gibbs
Ramsey Arteta
Gervinho Cazorla Podolski
Giroud

Subs: Mannone, Koscielny, Djourou, Coquelin, The Ox, Walcott, Chamakh

If we can maintain a strong defensive boarder and get our quick passing going then I think we will win this one relatively easily!

Arsenal 3-0 Southampton

Cazorla - 0-15 mins
Podolski - 30-45 mins
Giroud, yes, GIROUD - 60-75 mins

2-2 i reckon or 3-1 to arsenal. What time is your kick-off mate? 3pm or the late one?

Oscar - 3PM

I agree with the OP. If we play at our full capticity then we will win. We just need to be switched on defensively against Southampton to stop their dangerous attack. I think we'll win 4-1.

Cazorla
Podolski
Vermaelen
Giroud
