Harry was sacked because he was constantly shouting his mouth off, openly courting another job, at the same time taking his eye off the one he already had. He also used every excuse under the sun to explain our dismal form in the second half of last season and wouldn't admit that his head had been turned and that this had a bearing on our performances. I'll always be indebted to Harry for the good years he brought us, but the time was right for him to go. We weren't progressing. We needed a modern manager.
This no tactics, football's a simple game, just get out there and play with it only works up to a certain point, and the new, modern, more intellectual and analytical approach is not something to be sneered at. And is it really that new. Wenger's been doing it for years, Mourinho too, young managers like Mancini, Rodgers, Laudrup. Harry shouldn't be so bitter and should accept that there are many different styles of management. He was good at what he did, but that's not the be-all and end all of the matter.
He doesn't want to be a footballing dinosaur like Hansen, Shearer and Lawrenson. He should swallow his pride and wish AVB well.

The bottom line is who could believe that Chelsea would fluke the CL, thus denying Spurs their rightful place in this seasons CL. And fluke it they most definitely did.

3 months on & still bitter about it Sandy.
We certainly did not fluke it, we had some amazing fortune, fortune above the norm agst Barcelona and Bayern but that does not add up to a fluke............you can not fluke winning the CL it is actually impossible to do so.
We did not fluke beating Valencia at home when we had to win to get out of the group
We did not fluke beating Napoli 4-1 to make a brilliant comeback
We did not fluke a comprehensive 1-0 away win in Benfica
The games agst Barcelona were where we received a great deal more fortune than we were entitled to, but you still have to have something special about you to take advantage of that luck, especially when down to 10 men at the Nou Camp. But then again considering we have not lost in the NOU CAMP in our last four games there,it was a result perfectly consistent with a team who knows how to play agst Barcelona and get a result.

Redknapps' Spurs effectively risked their CL campaign on the flick of a coin they had 4 weeks to try and avoid.

surely not... 3 points from 11 games is either 1 win 10 defeats, or 0 wins, 3 draws, 8 defeats.
at a guess i would say there was a ten game spell when we won 1, drew about 4 and lost the rest.
that is still diabolical however. shocking.

Chronic - we having a saying in Waleswhen we witness a poor match - if that game was in my back garden I would have drawen the curtains at half time !!!
