At last some improvement, last season it was 0-1 to Yeovil, but still need a clinical finisher - too many shots off target.
Not sure Charlie would relish the Super-sub role, but i certainly worked this week - Bring on Notts County
Good Result

Enjoyed the game but was not impressed by Yeovils tactics... For a team that was supposedly up the top of the league they showed not one ounce of creativity or ambitions to push forward. All they did was try and stop us by any means possible and they should have had half their team booked. If the tables were revered the DONS probably would have had 3 sent off.. I can see why Robbo stated last week that other teams get away with things we dont. I thought Yoevil were rubbish and deserved to lose. If they had nicked a draw it would have been a big injustice. I hate these teams that come to our place and have no intention to attack other than a hoof upfield and hope to catch us on the break.. Looking forward to a better game of footy tomorrow.

MKANDEE, but it is a tactic that works, so more teams are going to do it. Robbo and the team have to come up with ways of getting round their tactics.

Bill, no need to be rude mate but not everything in football is perfect. We're not going to be perfect every game! I'd have happily took that performance and result last season which would have got us the home leg second which could (Shouldn't, but could) have made a difference in the playoffs. End of the day we didn't win last year but we did this, we wouldn't have won that game against any opposition last year, but we ground out a result, which is all that is important in football. Winning.
I wasn't impressed by Yeovil but I thought they played their game plan well, which was to kick us off the park, annoy and frustrate us and get men sent off, we showed much better discpline and come through the game well and won! Kept a clean sheet, 3 at home this year, and won 3 points. That is all that matters.
Nothing is perfect in football and it just seems that you're never happy unless we win a game convinsingly, and even when we do (Example, Oldham) you point that we won 5-0 last year and we've got worse..

McMaccer, how was I rude? I actually said it was an improvement.
Also what is your definition of grinding out a result, MK Dons again dominated Yeovil, and had a total 23 shots against Yeovil's 10. The only down side was that of that 23 shots only 1 went in.
To get the automatic place (and be able to survive in the Championship, MK Dons should be beating teams like Yeovil and Walsall convincingly. I don't think the Oldham victory was that convincing, neary 60% possession and only 14 shots and 2 goals (against 56% possession and 23 shots on Saturday) and it is a fact that last season MK Dons did win 5-0 and there has been no sign that Oldham have improved from last season.
If they grind a win out of the Notts County game, I promise to be pleased (I reckon 2-2).

Firstly, never said you were rude, I apologised in advance if you found what I was about to say may be seen as rude.
Secondly, to me grinding out a result is winning, not playing as well as you possibly could, but trying hard and getting a win. Basically winning a game which you found hard to win. Which we did.
So in that case, we had a 'must win 5-0+' tag playing on us then? that's not how football goes, Bill. You play differently in certain games in oppose to others. It's a matter of inches, seconds, timing and so on and so forth, little differences can mean a lot, doesn't paticually make you worse.
Stats don't mean everything, granted it's an overall assessment of the game but at the end of the day one stat matters. 3 points. We got 3 points against Yeovil (Who I think you're being harsh on, they've started the season well and were always going to be difficult to beat, we had no right to win it 'convinsingly' and I totally agree we should be beating Walsall, but 'convinsingly' no, I beg to differ. All that matters is 3 points, and winning by big margins isn't the greater of importances especially away from home. Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday didn't win by huge margins last year did they? Where are they now?

McMaccer, the start of your first post confused me "Bill, no need to be rude mate", I read that as you felt I was being rude, I have struggled to find any other meaning,
We obviously have a different interpretation on what grinding out a win means, To me it means, not playing well, being up against it most of the game, but holding out and winning by a breakaway goal.
I have never said they must win 5-0+, but against the lower teams goal difference can make the difference between Play off or Automatic promotion and a signl goal means one slip can make the difference between 3 points and 1 (which would have happened if Daniel hadn't stopped the ball going across the goal line. The problem of 1-0 is that last sason there were a number of lapses towards the end of the game that turned a victory into a draw. Again the difference between Autos and Playoffs.
And as I said as the heading of the article it was good result against Yeovil

Glad to hear you were able to work this week Bill
I too watched the game - we certainly should have had a 2 nil score line, as I have no idea how the goal could be given offside - and there were far too many decisions from one particular linesman, where he kept flagging us offide.
I can't go with your reliance on all of the stats Bill - most of our shots, had no chance of beating the keeper - I would have said 4 or 5 real goal scroing chances at most - we might have had more if we were not kept being flagged.
I thought we struggled against Yeovil in terms of the attacking creativity. Apart from Powell - no one was really running at the defenders and creating the openings - as their solid back wall did not let us get our passing through.
Looking forward to tonight - that will be a test

Moocamp, but at least they are taking shots, whereas other games they haven't had many.
Your comment also supports view that the team need a real striker to overcome the defensive tactics of the lesser teams, Robbo has got to have options when the usual passing game isn't working.
