maybe because our supposed Defensive Mid was the closest player to rvp, our full backs kept changing, we had loads of different centre back partnerships cause they kept getting injured. there was no stability in defence basically so its about 90% the defences fault

We were exactly the same last year, best defenders out most of the season, no consistent back 4 and no defensive midfielder at all

I don't recall United having to play centre-backs in both full-back positions for a sustained period of time like Arsenal had to.

You weren't paying much attention then. We had to play Carrick as centre back, Evra at centre back, Berbatov played there at one point. We played Valencia at right back, Jones, Smalling at right back yet De Gea kept us in the title hunt.
