Just got back from the game and whilst I'm disappointed with the result I've got to say I was really encouraged by a fine team performance, just a pity we couldn't close it out for what would have been a thoroughly deserved point against the Championship leaders.
Reds were by far the best team in the first half playing an excellent passing game full of confidence and composure. Daggers played Mellis in for a superbly struck goal and the only negative was that we were very wasteful with other decent goalscoring opportunities. On 45 mins Rhodes made goalscoring look so much easier and it was a travesty for Rovers to go in level.
Second half Rovers stepped up the pace but the Reds looked comfortable until the last 20 when KH made a few changes. Marlon never held the ball up as well as Davo had done, Etuhu didn't have the influence that Daggers' industry had had and Perkins into m/f for the excellent Cranie (who went to rb to cover the injured Jon Stones) seemed to lose us some control of the game. Ball was coming back a bit too often and eventually that cost us 5 mins from time.
Overall though, this was one of the best away performances I've seen from a Barnsley side in recent years (don't get to many away matches though!), but if we play like this in other away matches I'm sure we'll pick up deserved points. Oh for just a shade more quality in the finishing department!!!

Really deserved a point, bit gutted tbh.
Just hope we don't start putting in performences and not getting the points, but yes very good from the reds!

Believe me Ilkley, after going to the majority of away games after Leicester last season I can guarantee every other Barnsley supporter there tonight will also think it our best away performance in ages.
Tonight I only listened to the game on player but we sounded totally in control for all but a 10-15 minute spell in the middle of the second half, and were desperately unlucky to not come away with 3 points never mind 1. A prime example of one team taking the few chances they have, and the other wasting a bucketful. Alas we ended up with nothing, but we can take heart from the fact that we dominated the league leaders on their own patch and actually created opportunities unlike on so many occasions last season.
I have to ask though, was Harewood's miss as bad as they made it sound on player? Hearing him being through 1 on 1 then firing "12 feet wide" shortly before Rovers scored made me quite angry
Anyway, I'll be going to my first away game of the season on Saturday and I hope we can put in a similarly hard-working and dominant performance. And at only £18 a ticket (£12 for me ), I hope a few more will be coming down to cheer the lads on as well.

According to the BBC site, we had 61%!!! of possession and 15 shots on target....those stats should be encouraging, but if you lose....
We've got to find a goalscorer from somewhere...God knows where...but somewhere.

Well played and unlucky. You definately deserved at least a point and Rovers were very lucky to get the win. You just a bit more quality in he ifnal third, both the final ball and your finishing / shooting which to be fair was very poor. Your approach play was bright and inventive and you dominated midfield.
I thought both wingers and the left back looked good.
