You're completely mistaken if you think Di María's inconsistent. In fact, he's one of Madrid's most consistent players. And it's not just about his ability on the ball; his defensive work rate's tremendous, does so much to protect the RB.

How can people not rate Di Maria? For a player as talented as him, his work rate defensively is astounding. Usually players with his attacking ability don't commit themselves defensively as ardently as he does and this deserves massive commendation in itself. Furthermore I fail to see what he is lacking. Excellent dribbler, passer and his movement on and off the ball is superb, allowing for great link up play. Last night was a prime example; he was top notch, roaming about the pitch, popping up in several positions, taking players on constantly, sending lovely passes through the city defence which the likes of Higuain contrived to spurn. I really don't understand how some of you guys watch football.
