Dont blame Colin

Folks Im hearing a load of negativity towards NW, think its unjustified to be fair. yes the manager has to take some blame, however I think his hands have been tied with the smallest transfer kitty in the history of football. Let's be honest, has he actually been given any money to buy players because im pretty sure whats hes spent will balance out with the player sales!

Also the injury problems have been the main reason behind this recent blip, I firmly believe that we wouldnt have lost our last two matches if Rossco, green and Norris had have been fit. Doesnt help when the only player we can afford to bring in is a replacement loanee who has barely played for 4 years.

If our starting 11 stayed injury free for a full season we would make top 6, this is nigh on impossible though with our squad and injuries.

I feel very disheartened, but lay off NW.

So three players cost us £2m! Wow! Compare that to Hull City or Cardiff or Blackburn.

As for being sold two weeks ago - you know I posted that in good faith and if you read Bates program notes you will see that things are still on going. It is going to happen and no amount of protesting will make it happen sooner.

He chose to sign his old pals Gray and Tonge, he chose to sign Varney, he chose to make Peltier captain, he is the one who chose to sell Clayton to a local rival, he chose to give Brown another contract, and he chose to transfer list half a dozen players we haven't been able to shift!!

BECAUSE HE HAS NO MONEY!!!!!

I can't help but think that a lot of Warnocks comments are directly dictated by what goes on upstairs. If he believes that he will have a certain amount of backing, he will tell us one thing. Then upstairs pulls the rug out from under him and he has to back track and tell us something else. The timing couldn't have been worse as all the better targets have gone elsewhere. Hardly his fault. Let's just hope for a change in fortunes very soon.

Bywater, then what you;re saying is that after decades of years of management Warnock is still extremely naive regarding promises from the board.

or maybe just decades of management

Stoopo - Ok he has limited resources, so why waste what little resources you have on old pals Gray and Tonge or on wages of players like Brown and bloody Varney?

I am not saying anything of the sort Jonty. It's a belief and nothing more. Can you in all honesty see him saying anything that he doesn't truely believe and making himself look stupid. The situation down there is making idiots of us all and we hang on every snippet of news and gossip in the hope that some of it is factual. How much more does Warnock actually know than we do? Are his remarks entirely his own, and made as a result of what he believes of what he is told?

"Ok he has limited resources, so why waste what little resources you have on old pals Gray and Tonge or on wages of players like Brown and bloody Varney?"

Gray is 4th choice striker behind Becchio, McCormack and Somma. Gray is better than what we had before in Paynter.

Tonge is here on loan due to numerous injuries to central midfielders and because the transfer window is shut. He could have played Thompson, but we'd still be vulnerable to an injury so better to bring in Tonge for competition for places. Just like Grayson with Vayrynen and Forssell, 2 free agents brought in after the window has shut. Grayson didn't waste any resources on them, they were gambles that unfortunately didn't pay off. Promotion was the aim in Bates' deluded world.

I thought Brown signed a contract on reduced wages? I doubt those reduced wages would be able to attract anyone better. Anything he contributes is a bonus.

Bloody Varney, a very average player, but again who else is available. Previous signings since reaching the Championship on the wing include Sam, Watt, Nunez, Rogers and Pugh. We struggle to attract anyone decent. Generally only rejects are signed, only Austin in the current squad we did well to sign. Luckily Pompey's situation helped us to find some decent (nothing more) players this summer.
