Oscar fair play mate, glad that Burns proved you wrong. I will admit that I thought it would be a 50-50 fight but I wasn't having any of the Mitchell is vastly superior talk

I thought that Burns would control the fight with his jab and kepp Mitchell away but don't think you are the only one that is surprised mate, No matter is people don't want to admit it Burns surprised us all with that performance. Outstanding The atmosphere was fkin electric and pretty initimidating for a visitor. I was next to two old guy's in the crowd who have been going to fights for 30 years they said and even they admitted it was the best that they have ever seen from a Scottish fighter.

Agree with you on the physical side, as soon as I seen the weigh in pictures Burns looked in alot better nick.

Great night, I hope he doesn't fight Harrison and I don't think he wants to but whilst Frank Warren is involved it's gonna happen Burns is good enough to go and unify the belts

Also, a mention for Mitchell, great guy he is very humble and respectful. He should concentrate on getting regular fights and keeping himself in top condition because he has got plenty of talent

He sure did Rock mate and as i said i'm always the first to hold my hands up if i'm wrong, got it completely wrong . Glad you enjoyed it though, and yeh the atmosphere was immense !

I let my heart carry my head to be honest as after the fight i actually did see the bigger picture and a lot of things i missed / didn't care to look at.

- I hadn't seen a lot of Burns box before and i didn't actually realise how good he actually was, i just saw a few fights and assumed he didn't have a lot of power as a lot of people thought. But boy oh boy did he prove he has power saturday, every punch that landed i was thinking fkin ell that had to hurt.

- I didn't realise how big and strong Burns actually was, he really really trained hard for this fight and reaped the rewards 10-fold, he looked in immense shape whereas Mitchell did look good but you could see he emphasised speed as he was just lean as opposed to Burns who was ripped to the max

- Since 2010 before that fight Mitchell had only fought 4 times, one of which was his loss whereas Burns had had 7 fights since then so was a lot more ring active

And a lot of other factors. Burns impressed me so much though and will certainly take more notice of him in the future he is going to go very very far, got everything needed and his head firmly screwed on

Agree with Harrison as well, i like Harrison he's just a fall on warrior but i just don't think he still has it in him to go 12 rounds with Burns. Burns is young, fresher, faster, and would just destroy him. Doubt it will happen though as Harrison will probably end up getting nicked next week like he always does


And as for Mitchell, I agree that is one thing i like about him, he tells it how it is and is never a sore loser, if he knows he got smashed and outclassed he says just that.

Don't know where he goes from here, but hope he carries on boxing and stays on the straight and narrow, don't want to see him end up drinking every day again and getting in a load of crap. He just needs to continue working hard and fighting reguarly

As you say, Burns has his head fully screwed on and is 100% commited to boxing and leading the life outside of the ring. I hear that he keeps himself healthy and in good nick in between fights. That's what you need to do to be a top fighter.

reading Mark Tibbs twitter account earlier he is replying to fans about how Mitchell can still be great but only if HE himself wants it enough. Im not sure Mitchell can lead that kind of dedicated life, I really hope he does though because he is a top bloke and a classy fighter. He needs to start from scratch now, work hard and work his way up tp the top again.

As for Harrison, Burns would take him about within 6 rounds easily. Having stood and watched Harrison on saturday you can tell he is washed up and is just looking for some money.

I think we may well see that fight in December though just to keeo Burns active as it would be a bit too soon to organise a unification fight. Early next year hopefully. Burns is a already a star here but I really want to see him go over to the States and do it and I think he has got everything in his locker to do so.

And also, I don't think anyone expected the fight to be as one-sided on Saturday. The first round was close and it could have been given either way but Burns dominated form there. Having paid £75 for a ticket I was kinda wanting it to go to a 5th round came out buzzing, wanting some more!!!
