morning all...thought id offer my take on last night for what its worth...
lloris....fine debut...not real shot stopping to do...but great distribution, and confident enough too come off his line and claim the ball....7/10
naughts....very impressed....does not look out of place(even thou he is)puts defending first, but looks too join in when he feels its right.....7.5/10
caulk...another solid display...goal ruled out for ever so harsh pushing...big,good on the ball....we cld have one here.8/10
vert...yep,very impressive...calm and assured on the ball....what he lacks in pace....at the moment...seems too gain in the reading of the play.8/10
walks...not really got going yet this season, done nothing wrong...clean sheet after all...(rareity for us)...just not as dynamic as last season....yet....links well with azza....7/10
bale.....well....another thats not got going yet...again done little wrong...greedy on free kicks first half.........but did put some telling crosses and deliveries in...draws alot of fouls....cards for the oppo...which does put them under pressure...just a fackin' crime we rarely benefit from said free kicks...6.5/10
dempele.....well,if we may have one in caulks...we have for sure in this boy...power,pace,skill....stamina...just about all ya want from a modern day midfielder...very impressive...8/10
sandro...not his best game...still broke things up...strong in the tackle...but his distribution wasnt there last night...6/10
azza...well....taken over from jenas as the most frustrating player at the club...his final ball is rarely on the money...
beats his man as often as ya like...but then never picks the right option...it was a shoot on goal himself all day long after neat build up with JD...but instead he squares it.....
again a foul/card magnet...but little or no football brain it would appear.6/10
demp....not bad....first start...so was probably looking too ease himself in....desperatly unlucky too have a header chalked off...which he took well...bigger and better things too come from no.2 for sure.....6/10
JD...whilst not his real position...he's still not done alot wrong for me...he tries to hold up play...use his...limited i guess upper body strength...and bring others into the game...
and he's not doing too bad at it tbf.....no real scoring chances...done well to keep his head under what appears to be...racial abuse..thou he got stroppy a couple of times...but who cld blame him....6/10
overall.....we played well i thought..same old same old from set plays...combination of delivery and movement for me...as some crosses were right on the money....
as its a work on progress...pretty impressed...maybe need to move the ball quicker...and just need a couple of players too find there form...and for once...just fackin' once....
get one from the officials....4/10 for them...and thats me being kind....
team performance....7.5/10
over too you...i'm sure some of you will differ massively from me........but hey...thats football.

Morning Junction
I though we played really well last night we scored 3 goals so we win 3-0
Ill give my ratings and brief talk about each player:
Lloris - Quality keeper demanded his area well not scared to come and claim the ball. 7/10
Walker - Not his best game, passing was average 6/10
Caulker - the new KING unlucky to have his goal chalked off 8/10
Vertonghen - Class 8/10
Naughton - Impressed me last night very good going forward and defending just one thing that frustrates me... HES TO RIGHT FOOTED... AND RB SHOULDNT PLAY LB!! 7/10
Lennon - The most frustrating player he hasnt changed one bit since he was 18 needs to learn when to shoot and when to cross. Quality runs but poor end product 4/10
Dembele - Class act, Big, strong, this guy will be world class 8/10
Sandro - steady game, broke up play well and looked good when going forward 7/10
Bale - another frustrating player greedy on free kicks needs to pick it up 6/10
Dempsey - Good debut again unlucky to have a goal chalked off i think he will be an asset to the team this season 7/10
Defoe - Diddnt really have a sniff did he put held the ball up well enough for a little man 7/10
Siggy - Done ok when he came on not enough time to judge N/A
Townsend - Should of done better with his header N/A
Mason - MOTM diddnt put a foot wrong 10/10

Agree with most of the above, except, people are being harsh saying Lennon has no football brain, very short memories, anyway, Naughton for me, looked calm and assured. I felt more comfortable knowig he was playing at left back then i ever have with BAE.

Lennon on the one hand tried really hard, got himself in lots of good positions but, once again makes bad decision after bad decision. Not that I place much importance on the role of the captain but why Lennon? He can barely speak the lingo and I don't think I've ever seen him communicate on the pitch

bit 'mousey' for skipper for sure....

Naughton and Dembele were your best players

Whilst Caulker had his goal harshly chalked off, i actually thought he looked very static. He let his man go far too many times, didnt seem to know where he should be half the time & lost control more than just a few times. I'd give him 6/10 max.
As for Lloris, how refreshing was it to see the goalkeeper come off his line to collect corners whatnot. Plus, he has great kicking ability - very accurate. I like him alot.
