With liverpool hosting manchester united at the weekend, this fixture has always been said that the two teams have a bitter rivalry. Is this myth or truth. Just wondering what the two sets of fans feel about each other's clubs?

It started with the bitter Atomic Kitten and Take That rivalry in the 1990’s and unfortunately has escalated ever since.

Bitter rivalry?!
Nonsense, Liverpool are my second team, always cheering them on when United aren't playing. That is aslong as they are not playing City or Leeds my other two favourite teams...

It stated in the mid-late 70s really. A combination of local inter-city rivalry, (with the death of Liverpool as a working Port) old skool football hooliganism, and the demise of Man City.

That got pretty ugly! Simon cowel organised a truce but it is a fragile one that nearly started off again after Robbie rejoined take that last year.
