The Future

Dear Gooners,

What is going on at your club? It appears you have become a feeder club for Man City and Barcelona.

You are set to lose another 4-5 key players and pre-season is underway already with no valuable replacements in sight.

Last year you finished 4th in a 2 horse race with your "stars" but it seems you will lose Fabregas, Nasri, Bendtner, Eboue and Denilson.

In all honesty, a top 6 finish will be "massive" for you. Arsene has destroyed a powerful side, your club will now become the new spurs, whilst spurs move from strength to strength.

Quite sad really. Long may Wenger remain at Arsenal.

Cheers

Yes, these are the phacckts (benitez accent)

I honestly do not believe Wenger will let Nasri and Fabregas leave this season and I respect the clubs position with regard to Nasri.

Who do you guys see as a replacement for them if both leave the club?

to Red Russian

I really want Hamsik. I've been going on about him for a while but no one really listens to what I say

I also wanted Paulo Henrique but now he seems to be Utd bound which I am p!ssed off about because I think hes good

Two replacements which I would have liked!

[Back after pretending to work for an hour or so]

Hey, did this thread just redeem itself? Welcome back from the dark side, Belgarian!

To the friendly Gooners, I must say I've had better inter-club discussions with your supporters than any other set (going back to the old BBC days).

Anyway, regarding replacements for the hypothetically departing Nasri and Fabregas, I honestly think Wilshere and Ramsey are an excellent first choice duo for next season, so you could afford to go for a typical Arsenal 'up and coming' buy for midfield, spend proper money on a left back and a winger. If two of those purchases work out, I don't think you'll be weaker than last season - in which Fabregas was unavilable for some time and Nasri (judging by Gooner accounts more than personal observation) only had a great half-season.

Regarding Ganso, I can't really judge since I've only really seen the Youtube version of the player, but he looks more the kind of attacking midfielder Arsenal could do with (in the absence of Nasri and disappointing contribution of Arshavin) than the sort of player United needs (i.e. in my view a deep-lying playmaker in the mould of Scholes circa 2007).

Ultimately if the Arsenal have players that wish to be somewhere else then if we get the right deal then they should be moved on. Every club has players that seem irreplaceable but as Wenger and Fergie have shown numerous times they are replaced with new heroes. I'm bored of all this nonsense talk from the media.

If we do lose Fabregas and Nasri then we must immediately replace them with quality, no bringing in 16 year old Taiwanese wunderkinds who have potential.

Arsene only bought Inamoto because he thought he was a fuel efficient hatchback. He nearly cried when he found out he had bought a midfielder costing a few million quid with badly dyed hair.

Nostradamus like predictions.

"You are set to lose another 4-5 key players"

4-5 key players? Aside from the fact that if they number 5 they can't rationally be described as "key", who are these supposed "key" players?

"you finished 4th in a 2 horse race with your "stars" but it seems you will lose Fabregas, Nasri, Bendtner, Eboue and Denilson"

Not even avid Gooners would ever claim that Bendtner, Eboue and Denilson are, have been, or ever will be "stars". Is Denilson an example of what you describe as a "key" player?

"...spurs move from strength to strength"

From being a top 4 club and playing in the ECL to... not - hardly going "from strength to strength"!

"...a top 6 finish will be "massive" for you"

Sez you.

Hell, I'm not even an Arsenal fan, but even I can see this is just a poorly thought out WUM attempt.
