An Interesting Read

Have a read at this, the part where the club tried to rope Brian Laws into their plan to sue our SUPPORTERS over comments on a forum just epitimises how bad our old board was

Also the bit about us having to sell our star players Brunt, Whelen & Bougherra is worth mentioning too, imagine where we would have ended up had BL been able to hang onto those players and given money to spend...also looking back at a few of old loan players such as Agbonlahor, Scott Carson and a certain Kenwyne Jones, although not signed by Laws, imagine where we might have been if we had kept hold of those had we not been run so badly and had good money available!!

I agree that this was an interesting read and its always interesting to read what really went on behind the scenes at these times.

People need to keep this stuff in mind when they are blasting Alan Irvine, Gary Megson, Dave Jones etc for not getting this player, and not getting that player. I understand that our current board is lightyears away (in the right direction) from when Laws was in charge but the powers at the top unfortunately over rule those of the manager so not signing Ben Marshall and Adam LeFondre for example is more than likely a board decision, not the managers.

As for the likes of Brunt, Whelan and Boughera, I honestly dont think they were players that were truly the line between a premiership return and relegation so all this "Imagine what would have been" is a little bit far. With those players we might not have got relegated but thats as far as I would take it. Brunt became a far better player once he left us. He was similar to JJ in a sense where consistency was a major issue. Wasnt it Laws that once said "problem with Chris is that you dont know whether your going to get David (Beckham) or Victoria".

Whelan was a good solid player but I remember him getting a fair amount of stick at games. Bougherra was exceptional and it was very apparent, very quickly he was playing in a league way below his standard.

A bit like Ross Barkley.....

The most interesting bits are what is said about Kaven Walker. It proves that no one connected to Wednesdayite should ever have a say in running our club again.

All those barstewards should be put up against a wall and pineappled.
