It does matter 8bit, because you get into bad habits. The command of English from the average English person is rather poor anyway. We make so many common errors.

I still struggle, not that I'm a thicko, (maths is more my thang!!) but they are bad habits, how many times did I use to put in corporate documents/emails to customers 'your' instead 'you're'. How embarrassing!
You're not taken seriously in the world of business if you can't express yourself well.

I can understand a few spelling shortcuts but this takes the biscuit a bit.
