Lee Peltier

Hi, Leeds fan in peace!

Can't say I knew much about this lad before he signed for us. What did you guys think about him, performances?

To be honest, and I know it's early, but I don't think he's good enough, defensively anyway. Don't know how he got the captain armband either. Not impressed at all. Full back that cannot really defend

Thanks in advance and good luck with your 2012/13 campaign

I always thought that of him. We only brought his because Derek Fazackerly worked with him before

In all honesty:

Good points: a good athlete and good energy. Versatility meant that he could cover a few positions, which made him a useful squad player.

Bad points: regularly caught out of position defensively and, although he was often available on the overlap, his delivery of a final ball was too often poor quality. Not really good enough for a team that expects to be challenging for promotion, but a decent championship pro.

He wasn't near the top of my list of players I wanted to go, but I only really saw him as a squad player. I saw him as a back up right back (not 1st choice as he was for us last season), fourth choice centre back or injury crisis midfield stop gap.

Incidentally, a few comments before he left, which kind of shows a general consensus:

He started quite well with us tbf. Then Sven got the sack in October and he regressed from there onwards.

Getting caught out of position was a common problem. In the second half of the season it seemed pretty much every attack the opposition had he was in the wrong place. He was a weak link when the rest of the defence played well and when they didn't he still stood out as poor.

I think you've had a mare tbh.

Yep - you've pretty much summed him up. Decent going forward but suspect defensively and delivery in the final 3rd not great. Good thing about him is that he can do a decent job at centreback or holding mid.

Nigel Pearson was really astute in selling him and replacing him with a full back who is good going forward but defensively suspect and with no real end product!!!

Nice one Mersey.

Agree with all the above but I think manager's are equally to blame. If you have wide players in a four man mid-field, then full-backs are there to defend - end of! Konchesky is also guilty of this for us.

So a reasonable player but Colin should fine him every time he crosses the half-way line.
