Pes is back! Everything that was good about the good ol’ days of Pes on Ps2 is back.
The long range blasters, the R2 curling shots, the high through balls, the chip shots. Couldn't stop playing it all weekend. Finally got Pes right, haven't yet found anything that ruins the game yet.
Game is great.
Player ID id is good. Doing a world cup with England, Terry done a head first dive to block a shot, is hilarious Scored a kung fu style goal with Ibrahimovic too.
The AI plays a really good game of football on 'Top player'. Doesn't feel like cheat goals they score anymore, is a good challenge. Also the atmos has been bammed up a notch. Lot of prem chants are in there, except the words are replaced with 'woahs'
Anyone else got it?

I'm seriously considering not buying a football game for the first time in forever. Fifa doesn't excite me and I'm still a bit wary of PES' quality seeing how bad the games have been this generation.
Part of me is thinking of taking a punt on PES again after a few years away but maybe if I leave footie games for a while I'll be a bit more enthused again later?

Is the new PES a bit more like the good old days? Played the demo but was still a bit hmmmm but maybe being used to Fifa means it will take a while to get back in the groove again.
I played the new Fifa demo and for the life of me couldn't really notice any major changes from the last game.

See if your getting beat by one goal and it hits the 85th minute and the guy just keeps the ball at the back, that makes me if they do that i'll just desp try and get the ball so I can cut the connection off.

can you score screamers from outside the box a lot more? I felt in the last Pes it was almost impossible

Yep - had loads so far including a really good feeling half volley Gerrard style pile driver as the ball is bouncing out from the corner towards the player, double tap square, flew like an arrow.

I still find shooting to be incredibly awkward but I guess that's just me.

I hope they slowed it down, thats the only thing that annoyed me with the previous one, as I thought it was way too fast and arcadey!!
