I was telling my step-father about Shelvey coming through at how he looks like he's gonna be a good player at only twenty. He nearly took a heart attack, "what?! he's not twenty". He doesn't like him. He doesn't like any player who isn't good now. He doesn't understand potential, of which Shelvey has bags of it.
He has a long way to go in my opinion. Can he play in midfield and be disciplined? Certainly not at the moment. Would he be an effective attacking midfielder? Certainly. He's been playing in first teams since he was 16, so he's certainly got the experience.

He has surprised me a bit to be fair. So you'd see him in behind a lone striker?

Yes, I think he'd be great in that role.

Vik - maybe Fergie will bid for him and give him the opportunity.

Rip is by far not the sharpest tool in the box, nor is he the quickest off the mark, not by a long chalk. But, Jonjo was out of his pension rate when he squared up to the big man. Rio, quite enjoying himself wumming up Jonjo, is not the type to back down, oh no. A right-hander from him and the man who doesn't like grass would be on his ars. e. JimmyTheRed
