Extremely Grateful

Evening Blues!

Thought I'd just share something from my day yesterday. Last night I was searching for a DVD to watch for my evening in and came across the season review for 07/08. It was given to me as a Christmas gift from my ex girlfriend and, however nice the gesture, I just couldn't bring myself to view it due to the heartache in Moscow. However, since that wonderful evening in Munich, I thought "what the heck" and popped on the DVD. It amazed me how I'd completely forgotten the many great moments we had that season. The 6-0 demolition of Man City, coming from behind to beat Arsenal at the Bridge, the Ballack double against United, Belletti's screamer against Tottenham, watching the West Ham fans leave after 20 minutes at Upton Park and who will ever forget the magical and emotional Champions League semi final second leg against Liverpool.

These moments are often overshadowed by the frustration of losing the Premiership on the final day of the season and agony of the Champions League final loss. However, that season had some of the greatest players I have ever seen in a Chelsea shirt at their peak. It is amazing how far we have come from the likes of Fleck, Sutton, Jokanovic and Bogarde and we must never take for granted this great age for Chelsea football club. That season may never be considered a great one compared to 2005, 2010 and 2012 for example but since 1998 we have seen some truly magnificent players and memorable victories in that time and I am grateful to every manager and backroom staff in that period who have made this possible.

Sorry mate, we sure did, I forgot about the first 4-0, I may even have missed that one. I was still at school and using my paper round money then

I've got the video of it etched in my brain and would love to show it to you all, but I can't

Nevin even remembers it. That's how good it was. I lost count of how many he beat including Keegan, but some of them were beaten more than once.

man utd fans have had it bad on so close but so far. lost 2 premier league titles when in the lead with a few games left. Even then the game against blackburn and everton hurt doubly. Its maybe destiny.

Losing champions league finals in 2009 and 2011 when beating pretty much everyone on the way to these finals is hard to take really. Being the stand out team for 5 years and winning only 1 champions league is frustrating.

If saf had played the younger players like saf did in our last 2 preseason meetings who knows we could have another 2 cl medals. Even the bayern game in 2010 when it was an easy final to look forward to or this year all we had to do was draw against basel and we would have played only real madrid in semi and chelsea in the final.

I am telling you this know I think man utd and barcelona will play in the champions league final this year. If we play giggs and evra we lose. If we play buttner and cleverly or even powell or fletcher or even anderson instead of these players we win.

I know its only preseason friendlys but barca put out strong teams and man utd create bucket load of chances each game and restrict barca to not many shots. I just hope our consistency will be rewarded with another champions league crown.

Bayern munich went to 2 finals they were favourites in and they lost while man utd went in 2 finals were they weren't really favourites and lost with no real options in midfield. I suppose bayern must feel bad as they had 2 golden opportunities to win the cl and they bottled it.

Whats more funny is bayern munich especially against chelsea had so many chances to win it and chelsea only chance goes in from there first corner. It defies belief especially as bayern scored a late goal.
