Going on Sat, back Wed. There's an Irish bar called Katie O'Shea's. Anyone heard of any other decent bars, clubs, restaurants?

To be fair most of the airports were British....if I remember right it was Glasgow, Stanstead, Dortmund, Luton, Edinburgh. Worked out much cheaper though.
That whole trip was phenomenal. I didn't have a ticket in the Scotland end so was right among the German fans behind the goal. Great atmosphere. I was even singing along to "one Rudy Voller"

Visa application was online but not at all very clear. You have to book accommodation first and they give you ref nos and then a letter of invitation - but visa appln doesn't tell you this so you pretty much have to work it out yourself. Embassy was quite helpful over the phone though. Took passports in personally.
Can't understand why people go for these organised trips abroad - they are horrendously expensive for what you get. We always travel independently. You get your choice of flights and no middleman to make a killing on hotel commission. You can plan trip yourself rather than having to fit in with others. Much more fun....and easy to do.
