We're all now more than aware that we are in great need of a holding defensive midfielder, cover at left and right-back, and one more striker. If we do think this is the case, what (reasonable) names would you say we could look at as potential targets?
I am firmly in favour of us trying for Danny Pugh and/or Michael Tonge, and then from slightly further afield, Scott Sutter (English-born, Swiss international right-back) and Benjamin Huggel, though he has more chance of playing Champions League football at Basel.
There are a number of forwards I can think of but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

It's a tough call as there isnt seemingly that much out there within our budget. Pugh or Tongue would be a good.
It could be worth looking at a young left back on a season long loan. Van Aarnholt, Bertrand or someone of that stature.
As for forwards, we have plenty of pace so I would look to a larger and more experienced player like Howard, Parkin, Patrick Agyemang.
These arent necessaraly players who would be my 1st choice but considering we probably don't have much in the way of money they could be cheap and worth looking at.

Danny Pugh is definately one i would be looking at for cover or even staring at left back, is he available ??
Midfield, hmmmm. My first choice would of been Lee Bowyer but hes joined Ipswich, i think we missed out there!
John Eustace is a funny one. Forgetting his loan spell with us, he was Watfords captain last season as an ever present in a succesful campaign. To be honest he would definately fit the bill in that roll, with Bryson and Bailey alongside him.
As for the striker, id be looking at more of a target man... somebody like our ex player Rob Hulse!
