"Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has responded to his side's string of defensive injuries by bringing in former West Bromwich Albion left-back Paul Robinson on a short-term deal.
Robinson, 33, who was released by relegated Bolton Wanderers at the end of last season, has signed a one-month deal that runs until 26 October.
Clark said: "I'd like to thank the board for allowing me to bring in Paul.
"He is an experienced defender who will enhance our playing squad."
Already without injured skipper Stephen Carr, who has a career-threatening knee injury, Clark last week lost season-long loan signing Paul Caddis, who is expected to be out until Christmas at the earliest once he has had shoulder surgery.
And, after losing David Murphy with a torn hamstring midway through the first half of Saturday's 5-0 home defeat by Barnsley, the Blues boss is now also without Pablo Ibanez, who is expected to be out for four weeks after breaking a bone in his foot..."
Maybe we needed a bigger squad?

Another journeyman i'd rather see hancox play left back for a month he had a good pre season if he can't get in then must be a kick in the teeth for him, plus we have the kid from chelsea to play left back

Maybe LC is looking for a hit-man in the defence... anyway, now Curtis will probably get a start or two for a while... given that Pablo is also out for a month.

Mackem, I was talking to a colleague earlier today who knows Hancox's brother. Apparantly, he is well fed up about having dropped down the order.

He was good in pre season and played last season at home to nacional in the Europa league and hasn't put a foot wrong, he doesn't quite attack like David murphy but he did go on a few runs and scored in a friendly I think! Rather have a young player who supports blues with something to prove than an old injury prone has been!
Look at Redmond when he came on hurting losing to Barnsley chasing the ball wanting the ball even putti tackles in, fans respond to that not marlon king flapping his arms about if the ball doesn't go to his feet!!

Fully agree. I'd play them both -can't understand why Redmond isn't a fixture in the team.

Mackem, 100% with you! 2 occasions Marlon decided to flap about not getting the right ball when he could have chased it down and won a throw-in or something, no hunger there no more. Last season he knew he had to work hard as we had Chris Wood fighting for his place. He seems to know he wont get dropped now and we're seeing the lazy Marlon.
