Whilst I'm not in any way one of those idiots who belittles this trophy or any other trophy for that matter, I think this season we must concentrate on the league. It's obvious what targets the owners have at the moment and progress in the league is where it's at. Now that may not come this season but if we lose major players to fitness and injuries for league games, we're gonna struggle.

We have some great prospects coming through and there's no better time to play them, than now. The likes of Enrique and Downing should play, as well as Reina as they all have to work on form. Coates and Carragher should play as the manager will want to see which one of them wants to replace Agger the most. Sahin needs match fitness. Apart from them, we should see young players play, whilst the others concentrate on the league.

I thought all Scottish people slept on park benches and sniffed butane gas all day??
