Some going, you'll have your work cut out getting into the Champion's League groups but at least it's an Irish team guaranteed a place in the group stages of European competition for the first time. And it can only be good for the co-efficient. This has to go down as a triumph for the decision to move to summer football (and the investment in the league, even if some teams invested too much!!!!).

How are we guaranteed one team in the group stages?

If the Hoops lose against Copenhagen then they'll have to win a playoff to get into the Europa League, that could mean a tie against Spurs, Roma or Lazio to name but a few...

Still, if we could get 3 teams into the playoff round at least, that would be a good achievement & represent progress. + help the coefficient. There will be some very strong teams in that round, so you'd have to get lucky in the draw.

Sorry, BB, must've got my wires crossed. Was reading a LOI forum last night were people were saying that Rovers were automatically into the Europa group stages if they lost.

Copenhagen are a good team. They got to the knockout stages of last years Champions League. I hope Rovers do it, but I can't see it happening.

A good team Frank but not unbeatable! Shels got so close a few years back against a better team(Deportivo I think?). It wont be easy but definitely not impossible!

If copenhagen don't win this tie by 4 clear goals i will be suprised.it's quite sad that a country like ours can't match a team from a simalier sized country.maybe we should all stop being english wannabe's and get behind our boy's.
