Results have been awful, but there's been a lot of positive performances and it's been exciting watching the youngsters being impressive with the chances they've been given.
Tonight we finally got what we deserved; victory from a match where we reacted brilliantly to a galling start and bossed the game despite the new boys and youngsters.
Sterling starting games. Suso coming on when we were a man down against United. The youngsters stepping up in Europe. The young line up tonight. Rodgers showing such faith in Suso and Sinclair tonight when he wanted a winner, and seeing that faith repaid. I'm loving seeing stuff like this.
It's not just that Rodgers picks the players, I think they respond so well because they sense that he's giving them responsibility and is picking them to do a job, rather than just throwing them on for a few minutes when there's nothing at stake.
Brilliant reaction to a bad start tonight

I thought Jones showed real cajones to make the blunder then carry on coming for the ball.

They do seem to respect BR. They know they have to take their chance and show spirit. I am really excited hoping that these kids will be our new first team in a few years. There will be defeats of course, but they seem to re- act in a positive manner. All looks good so far.

Knotty Exactly my thoughts! I think what best sums up Rodgers' open attitude to the young players is the Sterling case; he was earmarked for a loan move and got a rollicking from Buck in America, but through his attitude, ability and willingness to learn, a few months later he's being rested for the game tonight because he's forced himself into the first team.
Yeah Suso really looks like he could be top drawer. Looks like he knows when to keep it simple and when to inject some dynamism into the game, great work for the winner tonight.

Now you can fully see why FSG where so keen to get a young manager like BR in as opposed to Kenny. KK is a club legend but BR seems like the manager you want to build your club future around. I have said before BR showed that he had guts over the Carroll situation whether you thought he was right or wrong. His playing style is a brave one and the desicion to give the young players a chance took a lot of courage but he did not hesitate. Its still very early days but I find this refreshing and it could pay off handsomely.

We are exciting to watch, which is great.
The youngsters seem to relish the responsibility they are given - more so than some of the senior players. Maybe something to do with old dogs and new tricks.

It was very encouraging to see the confidence the players had in their approach. What I found interesting that even someone like Carragher , who is a player who normally be associated with caressing a football, stroked it about and took his time in this game. This shows that Rodgers is getting his idea's across to the players.
Very assured performance form a team littered with kids and players in their early twenties. Assaidi and Sahin were excellent and surely will play a part against Norwich from the start. Suso to come on when needed.
I have suspected that we will be better against the so called weaker teams this season, because the team will take more risks (the next three games will go some way of proving or disproving this) With Sterling and Assaidi, it now looks like we have two wide players who fit the system he likes. Rodger likes his wide forwards to stretch the opposition across the pitch to hug the touchline, havingthe pace to isolate the fullbacks. We have desperately needed this type of player for years and I tentatively suggest we might and found two in Sterling and Assaidi.

Agree Paisley, also by doing this it allows our full backs to push further up into the space created and be available to play neat 1-2s or play the ball into the box or back into the midfield, really enjoying this aspect of our play.
