Not Too Bothered By The League

Like the title says, I'm not too concerned about where we finish come May. Obviously I'd be expecting top 7, but other than that, not too fussed. I'd like a good cup run in all Captial One, Europa and FA Cups. Like yesterday showed, this will give our youngsters a chance to prove they are the future. I was genuinely buzzing after yesterday's game. The likes Assaudi, Suso, Sahin (hoping he signs on perm) Wisdom and the youngen Sinclair all have me feeling optimistic. And even then the likes of Allen, Sterling etc. still have to fit into our squad. I really am buzzing.
But back to my main topic, our league campaign. We would be fools to suggest we will fly into the champions league this season. Even next seems a little too positive for our current state. We all know that we need time. We are seeing glimpses of what the future holds, we just need to polish sections of the squad somewhat.
Deep down, I know that we're not going to do big things in terms of the league this season. My hope would be top 5, but that doesn't seem realistic seeing as the opposition have stepped up a gear or two in the last couple years. I also know I will not be satisfied finishing 7th etc.
So this season, the season of progress, the season of improvement, I won't be too bothered about the score. I won't be too bothered if we hit the bar more than last season and constantly slip up.
I (and I hope some of you to) will feel emotions for the squad based on how they visionally play. If we play well, regardless of the result, I will be happy. In a season or 2, when I know our creation has been cooked and that Rodgers has finally built the platform, I will then gain interest into how many points we have.
We have to go backwards if we want to go forward.

Completely agree with you, it's not all about now now now, Rodgers is building a platform as you have said, and this season we should look for a couple of runs in the cups etc, and give our youngsters more chances like he has done so far.

In my opinion, with Kelly injured, we should bring wisdom right into the frame of things.
With Enrique being out of form for the best part of 9 months, it could be worth a punt by sticking glen on the left and have wisdom getting experience

and have wisdom getting experience
=============================
Is this irony? I was under the impression that wisdom comes as a result of experience.

Maybe he should be forgiven, but he needs permision first?

Did the Admins grant him asylum??

Give it two-three years time when Wisdom, Robinson, Sama, Suso, Sterling, Sinclair, Yesil are of reasonable age and have the BR way of playing drilled into them.

Add to that Kelly, Coates, Allen, Shelvey.

Plus the players BR will be signing in between that time (6-7 players at a minimum) the future looks bright. Their is undoubted quality coming through.

Henderson and Borini i'm still unsure about tbh, in terms of the impact they can make on the game.

But i do seriously see us being a very talanted out-fit in three seasons time.
