Stepping away from the furore surrounding John Terry.
What do we all make of Rodgers conversation with Mike Riley this morning? Was it a good idea? We've had numerous decisions go against us, and not many go in our favour, I think BR's right to have a word. Look at last night. Mulumbu catches Henderson just as bad as Shelvey caught Evans on Sunday. The punishment, a stern talking to. Then there's the debate about whether Evans should have also seen red. IMO a yellow apiece would have been enough of a warning to the pair of them.
Moving on to penalty appeals. Rival fans cite Suarez's reputation as the reason why we haven't got, at least, a couple of pen's. This is rediculous. Does Rooney not get penaltys because of his reputation, or Welbeck, or Bale? Ref's shouldn't be judging the player whilst viewing an incident. They should be objectively viewing what's happened, and making a decision on what they've seen.
Finally the claim that 'these thinks even up over the season'. No they don't. It's funny hearing this from the same United fans that said if we'd have got that decision last season, we'd have won the league, and not City.
Anyway that's my thoughts and ramblings.
What do you lot think?
Oh I don't want this to turn into a 'your player dives more than ours' slanging match. Keep it sensible, or be deleted .
Rodgers' call to Mike Riley.

but they miss so many things that are blatant, fellainis handball for instance. That's another point, they have only just accepted the fact that they need goal line technology but it really does need replays I think. They are making and breaking reputations on a whim!!
You're really saying the referees can't be objective, so can they really be the impartial overseers that they're supposed to be?

That's true Devil. When I first saw Tue penalty incident I said dive. It wasnt until I saw the replay I knew it should have been a penalty.

the reason suarez didbt get the penalty v united was plain and simple in real time it looked like a dive he threw his head back amd did a twist its an unnatural way of falling thats all the red gets to see. only with the replay was I able to see contact and even with that suarez still exaggerated it. I can see why it wasnt given, given his reputation. its the part of his game I hate he has so much talent and doesnt need to resort to this kind of thing just fall dont add to it.

A witch hunt and ref bias arent the issue here, that's clearly nonsense. It's referee incompetence.

good luck comes and goes and I really think there is little to gain from criticising refs, it is in the ref's own interest to call a fair game.

It's not just about the big calls for me.
The other night Wisdom got booked for a great tackle that won the ball cleanly without aggression and played it off the opponent for what should have been a goal kick.
It's decisions like that more than pens that wind me up. Pens are always very difficult for refs to call because they are usually in crowded penalty areas, and they get no help from useless assistants either.

I agree with a lot that's been said on here. The biggest problem I see is that while football has come on leaps and bounds, the standard of refereeing hasn't.
Players are more skillful than they've ever been, faster pitches, lighter balls, the action is happening far too quickly sometimes that the refs don't catch all the incidents but what are they doing about it, it would appear, not very much.
The things that are less forgivable are the things they 'see' that didn't actually happen rather than the ones that got away.

All clubs suffer. Everton had two good goals disallowed against Newcastle had blatant pen turned down v Leeds got lucky against Swansea. Just happens only time I honestly think it was dodgy was the Clattenburg derby. So many decisions Moyes post match accuses ref FA drop charges against Moyes and he has never reffed at Goodison again.
No doubt as a result.you will get some sort.of soft decision on back of this. To have a Liverpool manager complaining about refs is quite funny considering how much they benefit especially over the years.

I hope Mike Riley didn't have a bad line and end up hearing Brendan growling at him. If we get two sent off in the first half at Carrow Road, we can safely assume it went badly.
